Xeralto questions

I posted earlier with supplement questions. Well, I just saw another Vascular surgeon on Friday and she insisted I go on Xeralto. Turns out that the doctor that did my Scleratherapy and caused this mess (multiple DVT's in calf not one) wasn't be completely upfront about everything. Anyway, so I have on been on Xeralto for 2 and a half days and she also has me taking a baby aspirin with it everyday...which I thought was weird. But I am noticing little red dots that are showing up on my skin. This morning I even notice some on my face. They look like tiny broken blood vessels. Has anyone else gotten this from going on Xeralto?

I have had those ever since being on anticoagulants, both warfarin and xarelto. They're mostly on my upper arm and breasts.

Mention it to your doc if concerned.

You know, nothing sounded right to mewith how your original vascular doc handled things, even from your first post. I'm sorry you got off to a bad start

I sometimes get those little red dots too, although they tend to be on my face. They're called petechiae and they're basically harmless. If you start getting bruises that keep growing in size and getting darker, that's the time to call the doc.

Gotta agree with @rmb... I'm glad this new doc is sorting stuff out for you. The original guy sounded like a disaster from the start.

I hope you're comfortable with everything going on. If you haven't already, I'd suggest writing down any questions you have so that you can be sure to get them addressed on your next visit. If you're wondering about the baby aspirin, be sure to ask!

RMB and TossNTurn have explained fully about the red dots. However, I would ask for another opinion on taking xareltio and baby aspirin together. In my opinion I doubt that is a good idea. It appears that the risk of Petechia with xarelto can increase if taken with some other medicines. Im not sure, but I just wonder if the lieklyhood of getting the petechias becomes greater as you are taking both xarelto and baby aspirin. This is just a wild speculation. Hope you can get rid of the petechias soon.
