Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.

I took advantage of this past sunny Sunday to put my gardens to bed for the winter. Probably spent 6 hours total cutting back plants, raking leaves, hauling bags - the usual.
Well today is Wednesday, and I still feel like I've been hit by a bus. Every muscle in my body is screaming. I had no pain at all while I was working -and this delayed pain is way overboard. Could barely move Monday or Tuesday. Tuesday morning my INR was 3.3 (a rare case of being on the high side of therapeutic for me).
So I wonder, am I really just getting old and outta shape, or is there a relation between a higher INR and slower muscle recovery time? Any warfarin poppin' body builders in the audience?

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Well, I'm not a warfarin poppin' body builder, but I will give you my 2 cents anyway. Since Saturday, my muscles and joints have been really achy. And then yesterday , I started getting a headache and a cough. I wonder if you're just coming down with something? Otherwise, I don't think it's unusual that 6 hours of that kind of work would take that kind of toll.
Well I hope you feel better soon - I've had one bout with the crud so far, and am highly recommending the neti pot if you have any sinus issues. Hunker down in your best Snuggie and have someone make you a Peppermint Patty (one generous shot of Dr. McGillicuddy's schnapps with Ghiradelli hot chocolate, and a marshmallow on top for the best effect).
That may be the cure for sore muscles too, now that I think of it.
I had very sore biceps after vacuuming and defrosting my freezer this weekend. The veins in my arms were also more visible (I am quite pale, so they can usually be seen but they were really blue this week). I figured it was the Coumadin and then this morning the nurse called to say my INR was 3.9! Maybe a high INR can lead to more muscle soreness? I just thought your observation with a higher-than-usual INR matched mine. My PCP told me to lay off the housework. Gotta love that! I'll have to try your recipe. Sounds like an asthma cure to me! :-)
