Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.

I didn't want to wear a compression sock while I was working the dental trade show all dressed up. Instead I wore hose and then got some gel shoe inserts with arch support and I made it through 2 days on my feet with NO discomfort.
Even before my DVT, the trade shows killed my feet. I'd feel hobbled after standing in a small booth (on concrete no less) all day with no opportunity to sit.
Last year the compression sock helped with swelling, but my legs and feet, dvt side particularly, were still painful. This year was remarkable; the support hose held down swelling and the inserts took all the stress out of standing - what a great combo. They work great in my sneakers too, like adding shock absorbers.

Now that I am not talking to my whatever best friend, I realized that her life is full of drama. I had grown tired of hearing her stories about her boyfriend many months ago. She basically had been monopolizing conversations for that long too. She pretty much stopped asking me questions about me. I passed her in front of her classroom the other day and didn't even look at her. I am...

Just had an interesting conversation with ChatGPT! It was kind of like talking kindly to myself. You should get the App. It's free.
When I was in the hospital with the PE/DVT, the doctor said I had to walk as much as possible after I was out of the ICU. It HURST SO MUCH. The day I was admitted, I had been wearing these old school sneakers, like 1970 style track shoes. They had the slightest wedge sole and they were the only shoes that I could walk in without wanting to cut my leg off. I looked completely nuts in my hospital gown and those sneakers (they were pink and green and I wear a size 11-YIKES), while shuffling along, just me and my heperin pole and occassionally my husband holding my gown closed around my back side so my ass wasn't hanging out, but I tell you what the support from those shoes was worth how frightening I looked. I wore them for a month straight when I got home. I think it's similar to the affect of the gel insert.
One caveat - inserts can make some shoes feel tighter. So if you have a shoe that is already snug, adding an insert will make it not fit. I tried my inserts with one pair of pumps and they were unwearable. But in my sneakers and in the pumps I wore at the show, they were fantastic.
