Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.

Just had my last hemo visit a couple of hours ago.
I couldn't believe that she actually gave me the option of staying on Xarelto or coming off. It was probably because my peroneal vein did not show any change with the vein wall thickening. I chose to try going without. I am going to tell her when I travel, decide if I want to get pregnant, or get injured again. In the event that I roll an ankle or something, she can put me back on xarelto for a couple of months. She did say that the blood tends to thicken if injured. She said that I can keep my 9 pills that I have left for an international flight, and to call her when and if I do it again.
It's been a bit emotional of a morning. I worked out afterwards and I swear that my calf is already twitching, aching, and pinging with zings of pain. My leg was twitching this morning when I woke up. All in my head.
I am so nervous. My knee has been acting up and is swollen, what if that small of an injury is what sets me off you know?
I just had a glass of red wine to take the edge off / celebrate?
I shook her hand and told her that I hope I don't see her next week.
Today is the day. Day 1.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
It's a GREAT reason to celebrate!
Just like you, I also had a glass of red wine that day (I love red wine)! What a coincidence! And at the following weekend I had two glasses of champaign with my family.
Now, its just the compression stockings:(and hoping to never ever go through something like this again, right?
Just to add that today I went to the hospital (I was waiting to be called) to have blood drawn in order to have the genetic tests done. Now I have to wait one more month for the resultsnerve-racking. But the weather here is getting better and warmer, so lets enjoy the sun and hope for the best.
Best wishes and stay strong. The worst is now behind:)
