Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.

OK I have a really stoopid question and please don't laugh to hard at me as I am as serious as a heart attack about what I am about to ask (Even though I myself have a hard time keeping a straight face thinking about it)
Today I was out training my dog in the snow (no I did not slip and fall) We were training for avalanche searches, after he made several finds I decided to let him play a little. His favorite game is hockey in the snow and ice using a soccer ball. OK so he is pushing the ball around with his nose and pushes it over to me to kick it for him. When I hauled off and kicked the ball I felt a large pop in my right Butt cheek (seriously). It actually brought me to my knees. Now it hurts to sit down, stand or lay down, I think I may have pulled a muscle in my Butt if that's possible. (Told you its hilarious) The question is do any of you think I have anything to worry about for like internal bleeding in my hip or internal muscle bruising. I'm still new to all of this and even though I'm a first responder I have never quite had to respond to a call like this.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
When I was on coumadin I fell and landed on my hip and arm and I couldn't raise my arm at all. I thought I had broken it. They said it was a strained muscle and because I was on coumadin that I probably bled more into the muscle than others which was why I had more exaggerated symptoms. They had me ice it 20 min an hour.
With the pop that you heard, it makes me wonder if you dislocated it. You might want to go in. Good luck!

But yes, I concur, get it checked out.
I think we folks on coumadin always have to play the better-safe-than-sorry game and get things checked out.
(and btw, you have the coolest job!)
p.s. I had piriformis syndrome last year- an issue with a booty muscle. I was so embarrassed when the massage therapist said I had drawn a map of where she should massage because I had left a pattern of bruises from rubbing my own butt! I can only guess that I was doing it in public!
