Your veins get damaged from the clot so it could be from that. I don't think it's unusual to experience intermittent pain in your DVT leg going forward. You might want to mention it to your doctor if you're concerned though.

Definately experienced this and still get it sometimes (i had mine back in 2010) What helps, nightly raise your leg or when you can, it helps with the swelling. And exercise! its huge! I completely got into shape after my dvt and it has helped me tremendously.

Thank you, that's good to know. I have so much anxiety over this. It consumes my life. My doctor won't prescribe anything to help with the anxiety. It is torture.

There are things you can do for the anxiety. Counseling can be really helpful. I saw a counselor for a bit after my clots and it was the best thing I did for myself. I also found stating busy, getting out and riding my bike, hiking etc helped me get my head on straight. Trying certain meditation techniques helped too.

I had a small clot in my left leg and was put on Eliquis for 3 months then a reduced dose to 2.5mg. I too can confirm that I still have aching pain- different from the original DVT 'tightness', as this is most likely PTS. From what I've read online, It could also be that the DVT might've left some scar or damage to the vein. Of course I am by no means an expert or qualified to make an assumption, but from personal experience, now about 4 months after my diagnosis and 2 months post blood clot, I still having aching pain and heaviness in my leg. Also, does your pain get worse when walking and better with rest or does it hurt all the time, regardless of position?

As for the back, I don't know much about the muscle connection to the leg so I can't really help you there.
