Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.

Hi All, I have not been too active because I have been busy with settling in to life after this turbulent year. Friday is the one year anniversary of my husband's SCA so I am feeling relatively emotional. Anyway, he has started a new assignment at work. It is challenging because he feels he has sustained some brain damage but he was so smart to begin with he is probably closer to average than he was. So Friday he got home after working a day that was way too long. Last week he really overdid things. Yesterday he was very down, depressed and said he felt extremely weak. I am stressed because he has not had an INR test in 3 weeks. He is due to go tomorrow. He also had some discolouration on his ankle that I mentioned. But the reason I am having extreme anxiety now is that on the leg we suspect that had the DVT ( none of this was ever confirmed for sure) I noticed it looks like one big vein looks varicosed for a considerable length of his leg. I have never noticed this before. Obviously I am very anxious. I will cal the doctor as soon as he opens up. He is supposed to have an ultrasound but has to schedule it. I am not a baby but I want to cry. I don't know if I am just freaking myself out. I am worried. Obviously I will have it looked in to. So I am worried because he is tired, weak, down and that leg looks bad. Im scared and reaching out to my DS family. I have not read up on everyone but I am sending my love and well wishes to you all that have been a part of this amazing family that means so much to me. I keep everyone in my prayers and thoughts. Can anyone cheer me up? It is not going to be an easy week for me.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Your husband needs to pace himself. I'm still taking life easier after my last (third) DVT that was 21 months ago.
You need to look out for your own health and happiness for a bit. He's a grown man, and surely if he's unwell, he'd have the ability to contact his doctor if there's an issue. You constantly worrying and fretting is not happiness. It's a prison. Life is passing by and worrying is the illusion of control.
Life changes, life goes on, life ends, whether you worry or not. So please, please, just try to let some of that go, for your own sake.
