is factor 2, the same as factor 5 hetro

I could really really use your opinion. It appears the doc's didn't give me all the info in regards to me testing positive for factor 5 ,hetro. On the sheet that says I tested positive for f5 hetro, it says "factor II variant - normal genotype for factor II variant "

i do not trust these doctor's, i'm sorry to say. so upset.

if someone could explain, would be grateful.

I thought they were separate things, just different coagulation factors but probably all part of the blood panel you had, perhaps. While you don't trust doctors, they really should be the one to interpret your test results, but if I were to read what you wrote, it looks like the FII outcome is unremarkable. Still your doc would be the one to interpret results.

Well, normal to me mean normal. Meaning you have the same level of factor II indicators that everyone else has. Meaning you don't have it. A genotype (according to Merriam-Webster) is just your genetic make-up. Normal genetic make-up sounds like a good thing to me.

My understanding is that Factor II is the Prothrombin Gene 20210 mutation. The Factor V Leiden mutation is something different. Both Factor II and V are genetic mutations, so I'd expect a normal person to have a normal genotype... it really sounds like your test says you're normal to me.

BUT I'm not a medical pro and they should be interpreting your test results for you. Call and ask.

Normal means normal. Exactly. Not sure what that means in context of these tests but if I got these results I'd assume there was no issue with FII. But again something to discuss with your doc.
