Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
I'm still in a lot of pain and I hate it when the doctors try and downplay the pain. As far as anxiety, I have been suffering with anxiety untreated since I was in high school. I would be even more anxious if they decided to take me off of blood thinners, but I don't really have any anxiety over death, as I have made my peace with God. I'm just along for the ride now. Just be nice with your doctors. They have a lot of people demanding their attention. Don't think about choking them out like I do from time to time. But if you are looking to go into a padded cell, you can choke a doctor out for dismissing your pain. However it's something that I seriously don't recommend.
You have to remember that you are going through a really stressful sithation. You want your life back and now you are faced with an illness and possibly mobility limitations. I used to drive cross country and be a free spirit. Now I'm afraid to travel anywhere by myself. I was having a conversation with some old people the other day, just shooting the breeze about what medications we're taking, and how the side-effects made us tired. One of my good friends tells me that I sound like a senior citizen.
You just have to calm down, accept what you're going through, and seek put the positives of the situation. As upset as i get over the loss of some of the mobility in my right leg, I am glad that the DVT happened, because it alerted me to the risk of dying from another PE. There is a silver lining in everyones story. You will find your silver lining and things will get better.
