Having to change jobs

I have another topic that I would welcome your advice or comments on, what jobs do you all do now? I used to travel considerably (60-80%) but my doctor says that is out of the question with DVT/BPE. Since I also now have pretty severe osteoarthritis, that's fine with me but so many of the jobs now require a constant sitting position in a cubicle which is bad for both conditions. I am trying to find something I can do from my home office, but was wondering how everyone else is dealing with their work situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I work right now between 10-12 hours a day, mostly at my desk. I do get up frequently and I drink a lot of water, which not only keeps me hydrated but forces me to get up and walk to the bathroom fairly frequently. I would say the first few months after my DVT it was difficult because I was uncomfortable. But now, sheesh it's been about 7 years since my diagnosis, and I've had no issues due to work. I just make sure I don't sit too long at one time. It's difficult during meeting sometimes because those can get long, but I just try to flex my feet and legs.

I also choose to commute via public transportation to work so that ensures I'm getting some walking in. I have about a 5 block walk from my bus stop.

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
