Yeah, whenever I'm on lovenox, I get those. If they're really big or don't resolve, I'd mention it to your doc, but I think they're generally pretty benign. I seem to not get them as bad if I make sure I'm injecting the needle straight in, vs at an angle. Also, don't rub the injection site after your inject. Just try to leave it alone. That seems to help keep those knots down too, for me anyway.

I also rotate injections so I'm not shooting in the same area every day. So in the morning, I'll inject on the left, and then in the evening on the right.

I always get the lumps too, along with big ripe bruises that take ages to go away. There's no rhyme or reason to it either... sometimes the shot is totally fine and other times I look like I've been beaten around the stomach for days.

I also rotate injection sites, following a pattern so I can remember where I last put the shot. I can't usually put pressure on the area for a half hour or so after the shot, so baggy sweat pants and big t-shirts to help avoid any pain.

I am careful about rotating - right in the morning and left at night.
Of course my stomach looks horrible - bruises everywhere - I told the pharmacists who run the coumadin clinic I go to that I might as well rub my injection sites because not rubbing them seems to make no difference - I still have bruises - some giant!
I do have a call into my dr - my largest bump is about the size of a lemon and is very painful.

When I injected myself low-molecular (LMW) heparin (brand name hibor) it was enough to inject myself once a day. Perhaps this option can be explored, i.e getting some LMW hepain that is only needed where it is only needed to inject once a day. Lovenox (Enoxparin) after injected in tissue (subcutaneous) has a half-life of 4.5 hours, thus two injections a day are necessary. For Fragmin it is 3-4 hrs. For hibor (Bemiparin sodium) the half life is longer or 5.3 hrs, and only one injection a day is neeeded. The hibor is a second generation heparin, with a lower molecular weight than e.g. Lovenox. Lowering the molecular weight has many advantages, e..g in terms of side-effects. Compare unfracttioned vs LWM heparins.

If you need to inject yourself with lovenox over a long time, then I would ask for be switch to Bemiparin sodium where you need only inject yourself once a day, and this would surely decrease the incidence of bruising.
