Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, AT LAST: knee surgery after dvt
BelenGonzalezRiaza
I just wanted to tell you that my 18 years old son had at last his ACL repair. It was after a previous dvt in the same knee when he torn it, in february 2010.
Surgery was long (3 hours without blood in his leg) and difficult (an unexpected totally broken meniscus too).
He has had to take double dosis of heparin (clexane 40 in the morning and 40 again at night) because on top of everything he cant move for three weeks.
But after 15 (not easy) days and two visits to ER, yesterday they told us that his leg is doing fine and that not clot is present! So I wanted to share my joy (and not only my previous worries) and I hope this is the begining of a happy new year for my family and for all of you.
Un abrazo from Madrid,
Belen

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Great news!
Happy New Years to you and your family!
Regards,
Tom
