Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.

So angry right now. Had dvt through long haul flights in July 2014 and got treated with Xarelto. Our hospitals do not do follow up scans after treatment. Been going back to doctors complaining of leg pain for almost 12 months and eventually she sent me to see a vascular surgeon who ordered a new scan. Hey presto. Scar tissue and small dvt there. Now I'm on Warfarin.....obviously Xarelto doesn't work with everyone. It's about time that here in the UK more concern should be taken to listen to patients who 'know' their own bodies and feel there is something wrong. Been 3 weeks on Warfarin now and still my INR hasn't stablized. Up and down all the time. I'm sad!

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I'm sorry this happened to you. Lot of two time clotters here so you're in good company. It can take some time for your INR to stabilize. Three weeks is not long, so try to not fret about that too much.
Hang in there!
Ah well...staying positive from now on.

Life goes on all around me. My kids are busy living their own lives with their own children. I try to remain upbeat when I am in the company of my kids and grandkids as I don't want them to have to worry about me.
I still get on my exercise bike every day and strive to do 10 miles.
Not bad at the age of 67! Even my doctor was impressed.
I have never been advised to wear compression stockings after being diagnosed with dvt's. I have no idea why.
Some people swear by them.
