DVT and blood disorder

This is my second DVT in ten years. I believe I was tested negative for a blood disorder ten years ago. I am currently on Coumadin for my second DVT. Doctor is having a terrible time getting my INR to where it's supposed to be. It was too high a month ago and that created a bleeding problem for three days straight. Now the INR is below 2 for the past two weeks. Anyway, my question is this. What are the chances that I might have a blood disorder when I have only had 2 DVT's in ten years.
The doctor wants to test me again for a blood disorder in a few months.
I think that I got this second DVT because of a 5 hour car ride. I am in my 60's and the chance of recurrence was pretty high.
So, is it possible to have a blood disorder and have 2 dvt's, ten years apart.
I think it highly unlikely.

I have had 2 DVT's also without any blood disorder. Complications of IV's maybe is all they could come up with. Had lots of blood testing done.
I wear compression stockings on long car rides & will on airplanes. Do Lovenox now after having a surgery.
And drink lots of water. I am that person on the street walking with water. :)
But not in my jammies! Though I do see it all the time. I work in a bank & you would be surprised how many people daily come in their jammies!
Good luck with your blood tests, guessing you will find nothing but I would do them again.

Someone referred to "the perfect storm". Now I know why I got the second dvt. We took a car ride from NY to MA that lasted about 5 1/2 hours. I got in the car like a normal person who hadn't had a clot 10 years ago. I did not wear my compression stockings or do anything else that might lessen the event of another clot. Also, I never drink water so I am most likely dehydrated all the time. And, I am over 60 years of age. Perfect storm! I will pay attention next time we have a car ride that lasts a few hours. I feel grateful that I missed another bullet and that so far I feel pretty good (except for the difficulty maintaining the correct INR).

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
