I am not a candidate for the thrombectomy. Why? Because they could not find any clots.....nor evidence of any......with the doppler study. So I am happy about that but it means no relief in sight for the swelling and pain. I write this as I pull off my super cute compression stocking realizing they will be a part of my wardrobe for some time......dang! I REALLY was so hopeful.......PTS it is.......

We are all just full of good news on this site aren't we! Glad your clot is gone at least. How long ago did you have it and do they know why?

Diagnosed Feb 18th. ......Bilateral Pulmonary Emboli........lots of ankle swelling.....so they think DVT of right leg was root. Oh well......I should have known better than to get my hopes up. I am not a doctor and i did not sleep at a Holiday Inn Express so I should not have been thinking I knew why I am still very swollen. lol.

You were only diagnosed in February? You're only four months out, so I'd expect that you have plenty of time to keep improving. I saw improvements in pain and swelling up until about two years out. From my POV ... you're still early enough in the process to see things get a lot better.

I am ten months out. I was still hurting quite a bit after 4 months, I still have to elevate my leg at night because of the swelling.

I had both DVT and pulmonary embolisms.

Yes February of this year.......and now you all have seen my achilles heel.....I am not patient......lol. I am looking for immediate intervention and healing. I am or should say was very active and this has me unable to do normal daily activity.

Considering your clot is gone after just being diagnosed in February puts you way ahead of most people. I wouldn't even go so far as to say you definitely have PTS at this point.

That's true, RMB.

I actually still have quite a bit of chronic clot in my right leg (my DVTs were in 2005 and 2009) but I really have no issues with it at all. It's a little larger than the other one, but have no pain or discoloration. Like I said, it took about two years to get to that mark, but I did get there. If your clot is actually gone, then you're way ahead of where I was four months out.

Oh, and they usually don't diagnosis something like PTS until you've been out from recovery WAY further than you are. Having pain at four months out is NORMAL ... no reason to diagnose yourself with something you probably don't even have.

Almost 11 years after my first DVT my calf was hurting again this morning. It's never ending.
I got my first DVT in September of 2002. My daughter got married in June of 2003 and I dared not even try to dance at her wedding as my leg would just stop working and I never knew when that would happen. It was the strangest thing. That never happens anymore but I get twinges from time to time.

I can do almost everything I use to do. I am almost a year out. I have to say though my leg hurt almost everyday but so far nothing I can't handle. Only hurts if I am sitting or at the end of the day. I have just being diagnosed with a clotting disorder which sucks big time, I was hoping it was birth control pills that caused it but guess it was a combination of the 2.

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
