Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
For some folks, the clot is gone by four weeks out. For others, it'll take longer. Hard to say. If it is still there, your body is working on absorbing it and/or it is turning into sort of a "scar" and sticking to the vein wall. The chances of it breaking off and traveling is pretty much nil.
Having pain come and go is pretty normal during recovery, especially if you have some days that are more active than others. If you spend a day running errands and standing in lines, it'll probably hurt worse the next day than it would have if you spent the day on the couch watching TV or at the computer working. It just depends.
