My DVT was never diagnosed, by the time I had the ultrasound, the clot had already moved out of my leg, and 5 days later i had the PE. I had calf pain in my left calf and it hurt to walk until i'd stretch it out a bit then the pain would lessen. Within the last two days, i've had some calf tightness and pain in the same calf as the suspected DVT was in. I have an apt to have my INR checked on tuesday with my doc and as of last saturday, I was theraputic at 2.4. Should I be concerned. I know people say they have residual pain after their DVT is gone or whatever, but is the pain the same as what they first felt. Should I call my doc tomorrow morning, or just wait until tuesday....I'm freaking out slightly. I just posted asking people if they have every reclotted while theraputic, and I know it is rare, but possible...I don't know what to do?!?!?!?

I wouldn't worry about it...my leg hurt for a long time after my first DVT...it all felt the same for me

it's not a bad idea to call your doctor though if you have concerns

Take a deep breath. If you're worried, call your doc. But like food said, it's so not unusual to have a lot of leg discomfort post clot. You're body is forming collateral veins to assist with blood flow; your body is healing and healing can hurt

I never had any indication of a DVT until I was diganosed with a PE, by CAT scan. No pain, no swelling, no redness. Now that I'm on warfarin, I have random pains in my legs, both of them, that come and go. Never had that before, but from what I read, warfarin can cause muscle and join pain. If your really freaking out, call your Dr, but it appears its not unusual to have post DVT recovery pain, as well as aches/ pains as a side effect of warfarin.

This will sound nuts but make sure you're staying well hydrated. Many people here and on the PE site experience dehydration causing leg cramps and pain. Also, make sure you're getting enough potassium. I think sometimes, we get so carried away with trying to outsmart warfarin and INR by making changes to our diets and what not, that we forget the basics, like eating like a normal person, drinking enough water etc. I'm not saying that's the cause of all things uncomfortable but I do think it can be the cause of a lot of our post PE/DVT issues.

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
