We get fresh fish from the river here or from the ocean... much better than the frozen.. I totally agree.
We weren't talking about briskett buy yes, if you cut it the wrong way it falls apart too and is stringy. I love briskett but not in the crock pot, infact I don't like any meat in the crock pot except soup! Because it get too done!
I know Goldie just got her pot so she is excited about it and loves it.
Arline the vietnam potatoes do get crispy if you use a real BBQ with coals not gas! In Arizona you could have one of the drugstore BBQ's for about a life time cause no humidity, no rain, they last there not like here, they would rust so you get a gas grill! We got a gas grill later but the potatoes were more steamed then when they sat on the coals.
By the way I saw the black and decker chopper at Target and it is the bigger one now, would be perfect for you. Have you seen it yet? Look it up on line.
I am thinking of buying a slow cooker or steamer don't know what's best and you can't really cook meat in a steamer
The only recipe I know for the crock is stew and dumpling of course
Yes, there is a recipe book, but I didnt find much I liked in it. They have you cooking things before you put it in. I didnt buy it for that! I like stews done in it too.. it is fast and good. Soup is also good... You have to just try it out and see what you like in it
restaurants its supposed to be very nice and tender a bit like rabbit I don't fancy eating Skippy so I haven't tried it.
The French like horse meat I have seen it being fried up and the sight of it s yellow fat and the horrible smell put me off eating it
Some people swear by it saying it taste's like prime beef it was eaten over here in the war when beef was scarce.
It is nice to have a crock pot, I think because I dont have to watch it and it just cooks so slowly that it makes everything tender and moist.
The reason people buy crocks is so they can go to work and come home and have a meal ready. Oh I like it when I get sick I can pop somehing in it and not have to worry if I sleep. It pulls very little electric so no fires.
I have a TV in my kitchen too I spend a lot of time in there cooking. i think we have so many gagets today you have to add on a room for them Lol.

Lost I don't like rabbit I can't stand the smell of it or lamb but horsemeat would be a desperate measure. I understand there is a lot of that in the black markets. Once when I was kept in Haiti years ago I swear we ate the goat that had been outside the hotel. It was pretty good till I knew I ate my little buddie there!!
Goldie, pretty much everything taste the same in a crock pot I find so the recipe book doesn't change anything that much.It is a helper and that is what counts especially since you don't feel so good either. Then this is a blessing, you make a salad and your done!!

Oh I just thought of one I liked Lost. chicken cut up with Cambells Chicken and mushroom soup. It is one can of soup mixed, I like that one better cause the mushroom is to mushroomy for me. And about 1/2 can of water and seasoning you like. I like that one in the oven better cause it doesn't get so soupy and waterd down. Cook on low and maybe about 4 or 5 hours I take it out cause I don't like it falling off the bones.
