Doctors have known for decades that foods like white bread and corn flakes aren't good for cardiac health. In a landmark study, new research from Tel Aviv University now shows exactly how these high carb foods increase the risk for heart problems.
"Looking inside" the arteries of students eating a variety of foods, Dr. Michael Shechter of Tel Aviv University's Sackler School of Medicine and the Heart Institute of Sheba Medical Center ââ with collaboration of the Endocrinology Institute ââ visualized exactly what happens inside the body when the wrong foods for a healthy heart are eaten. He found that foods with a high glycemic index distended brachial arteries for several hours.
Elasticity of arteries anywhere in the body can be a measure of heart health. But when aggravated over time, a sudden expansion of the artery wall can cause a number of negative health effects, including reduced elasticity, which can cause heart disease or sudden death.
Using a clinical and research technique pioneered by his laboratory in Israel, Dr. Shechter was able to visualize what happens inside our arteries before, during and after eating high carb foods. It is a first in medical history. The results were published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Fresh trout is great for up north. My ex used to get them and we would have fish frys when the guys came home. No the guys clean them out in the woods generally, no sense bringing the guts home lol. Your lobster is is about the same as ours depending on size I guess. I never get the maine, just buy the tails. Haven't bought it in two years though cause of the price, I just refuse. I will go out and be served dinner first.Lol I would make him go fishing twice a week if I was you or he doesn't like to fish? We can't fish off the shores of the ocean here anymore. When I lived in Arizona I think we cooked everything outside most times cause of the heat. I learned so many tricks about cooking with foil it was great and no mess. My husband loved to cook also on the grill. I had forgot about that till you mentioned the foil.Some one taught us how to make Vietnam Potatoes (our neighbor) OMG they were so good but again no can do it now. Gawd I am hungry now!! Your lucky you can have gas grill. We aren't allowd to have them in condos anyplace. And they don't have them on the grounds here. Lucky you!!! I am comming over for BBQ!!!!
