I have had those before. People need to be very careful.
God Bless!
It is up to us to spread the word here and never ever click on links or respond to the message (or emails) in any way.
Actually DS is VERY safe. As long as you only talk to people on here through PMs and hugs...as long as you stay anonymous, don't give out your real name, address, phone number, pets names (come on...everyone has used them as a password at some time), or bank. Going off of DS and contacting people through your email is risky.
And thanks everybody for your advice. : )
What I meant was that communicating with a con artist on here isn't going to make it possible for them to track you down, the way using your personal email could be risky.
Once someone has your email address, they can try to hack into your email. Or into a credit card or another account that may use your email address as one of the checks on your ID. Or they can send you emails that look and sound like they come from businesses you know...but will infect your computer if you open them.
PMs on DS don't have the ability to infect your computer...that's what's safe about staying on DS.
As for the ads, I'm not sure what that has to do with anything.
The way of "contact us" is incorrect. There was no way to do so.
I searched around and found on the very bottom in the left hand corner of your screen that there is a "Report Abuse" link.
They have the option of reporting spam there as a reason for contacting them.... Click on "request type" and then scroll down to
"Report Abuse and Spam"
and select that reason.
I done so there, but thanks everybody! : )
Or this link may even work for future viewers of this thread

There was a great ad on TV a few years ago. It showed a shady looking guy who would go up to people and offer to sell them a bridge or some other such nonsence. The ad closed by saying something like
"You don't fall for this in real life, so why do you even consider it when they contact you online?"
They are casting a wide net, hoping that they get a couple of replies that they can then focus on.
Scroll all the way down to the very bottom of this page. There you will find "Report Abuse"; click on that link and follow the instructions.
