First, we’ve made a lot of progress with member login issues. if you’re still having login issues - please contact us here.
Also, we will have a lot of great fixes and improvements that you’ve been asking for coming your way this Friday!
The fixes you’ll see on Friday include:
- You will be able to view the photos that you had added to your journal entries.
- We are updating the font sizes across the site, making it easier to view content such as journals, discussions, messages, hugs and news feeds.
- The invite friends button found on individual discussion pages will function properly.
- We will display 15 posts at once rather than 10 to eliminate the need to keep clicking the “Load More” button.
- Letter casing will be fixed so that your usernames will once again be able to show capital letters. Ex: teamds will show up as TeamDS.
- The words “Support Group” will no longer appear in Community Group titles.
- An issue affecting the privacy setting of some members’ journal entries will be fixed.
- Hugs will be displayed larger so that you can see the entire hug message.
- Hugs and Private Messages will be properly ordered.
- Your friends list and group member pages will be sorted by who is online first.
- Links to Crisis Hotlines will be prominently available in both the footer and menus of the site.

Would this upset have happened if members weren't locked out? Would it have happened if trolls could freely post without joining? That the admins were unable to ban members? That removed abusive threads reappeared?
While behaviour wasn't ideal after this happened it was clear that PEACE admins had flagged at least some of the issues loud and clear for a number of weeks and DS decided to ignore it and then spring the upgrade on us, with a number of attendant problems we weren't expecting.
As a Community Leader my concern is principally the members of my board and the wider DS membership. Any loyalty to and trust in DS has been lost for now. Maybe it can be regained. I'd probably put this in the CL group but seeing as due to yet another design SNAFU my posts in that supposedly private group appear in the newsfeeds it doesn't make much difference.
however, and my point, there are a ton of estrangement groups on the world wide web.. therefore, there is room for all. there are some sites such as facebook who will allow groups to create pages to advertise there site. there are other sites that do not allow this and that is their right. Quite frankly, I see new members here as well as old ones either revitalizing current member groups or creating new ones and should be allowed to do so without a constant barrage of advertising from a group who is no longer on here.
yes, better, that group asked for the group to be deleted and it was done as requested and several of us here have time and time again wished you well.
and yes fish, behavior was not ideal which makes me question why new accounts are created to come back.
I guess because they realised there would be stragglers left on this site, people locked out that were viewing the site and couldn't be contacted any other way, newcomers attempting to join the various estrangement groups before the request to close them went through.
I still maintain the trigger for this was the way the site was designed, the poor communication and the botched implementation.
I'd like to think lessons were learnt but I'm not sure they were.
After over 3 weeks we are still missing a large chunk of our bipolar members and the temptation to set up somewhere else where everyone can get in is becoming stronger by the day.
There is a place here for groups if people choose to have them and if they choose to leave I to wish them well...
I find what's going on now though disturbing and not in the best interest of 'our' members... This site is about DS and DS members.. and DS gets to make 'their' own rules and have the last word on 'their' site ... just sayin
