But I'm on a Mac - and I don't think Explorer works for Macs any longer.
Okay, here's what *I* have experienced, using Chrome.
(Am on Firefox for this.)
Since your profile is set to private, Lizzie, I decided to torture Linda Jean, whose profile is NOT set to private!!!
(She's the one who started the thread!!! Now she's paying the price!!!!)
I tried LindaJean's method on Firefox, Chrome, and Opera.
It worked on Opera, but not the other two.
I only tried it once so far, though, on Opera.
So I don't know if it will keep on working.
I went on Chrome to test it out for you and I still couldn't duplicate LindaJean's experience.
BUT.
I DID have luck by doing the following. (I tested it twice and it worked both times for me.)
Write your Message.
Hit 'Send Message.
Go to the Chrome 'Refresh Page' icon.
It will be an 'X'.
Click on it and it switches from and 'X' to the little circle-shaped arrow, showing you that the page can be refreshed.
Click on the Refresh Page icon again.
The Message disappears within maybe 5 seconds or less.
If you go to your 'Sent Messages', you will see that it went through.
As I say, that worked for me the two times I tried it.
I suppose, as with most things in life, YMMV!!!!
(Boy!!! We're getting really clever at adapting to the new world order on here, aren't we???!??!!)
A slight modification to my clear as mud instructions.
It works MOST of the time (for me.)
But, so far, I've STILL been able to send it off faster than DS does on it's own by repeating the clicking on the browser's refresh button.
On and off. On and off.
The worst I've had to do (I've done about 7 tests so far) was to click on it (on and off) 3 times.
But I just 'click, click, clicked' as soon as I saw that it wasn't going through right away.
So say, about every 3 seconds.
Still a big improvement over the sometimes 40+ seconds it takes when you DON'T fiddle with it, LOL!!!!
If my new method stops working for me, I'll come back with my tail between my legs and say so!!!
More fixes, people!!!!
Everyone join in now!!!!!
Whaddya got!!!!!????
It seems to do pretty good no matter which browser I'm using.
Once it took 20 seconds, but most of the time it took only 10 seconds and a few, fabulous times, it took only THREE seconds!!!
I'd much rather sit here clicking for 10 seconds than sit here staring, slack-jawed and doing nothing for 40 or more seconds!!!
Kudos, LindaJean!!!!
(Ha,ha!!!!!! The only horrible part of doing all this was signing out and into the various browsers!!! That took forever and a day and nothing I tried seemed to make THAT go any faster!!! LOL!!!)
I'm wondering if the techs have any suggestions as to how we could move things along faster.......
i mean Eulenspiegel has this message-sending down to a 3 second send - pretty good for a non-tech.
Eulenspiegel - you're a genius!!!
I use chrome and I have no addons or extensions, nothing to slow me down and ds is still slower then death.
