I'm not sure what people are meaning by actions speak louder then words??... DS has been saying that they are reading these posts....
They are putting up lists of what will come next and then they are listing what has been addressed as they are addressed
This board is constantly moving with all kinds of requests from different people...
The engineers are busy working on and improving the site constantly now... They are putting up posts approx. weekly
This is now DS and I know that the site cares about members a great deal... They're working day and night to improve the site and give members what they're asking for.... People have to decide if this is what they want for themselves as a support site

I am hanging in there as DS has been a great support and there are a lot of great people on the site but I think that it is slowly dying. The groups that I normally visit hardly have any posts or comments. I think it is very sad!

It is quieter however it's also picking up... We're getting a lot of new members ... If there are some people on the old boards I think we can help a lot by getting it going again... We've done this on a number of boards now... It does take some effort from all of us... I think we can make the new DS a great place to be with all of us banding together ... I go to a number of boards now that just decided that we're going to make it and we are doing just that... I hope people really try... DS is so worth it and so are our wonderful friends here.... SunCloud what I mean by the was they asked for our input one the beta test site and then ignored it. I used to teach continuous improvement on a corporate level and I, as a trained professional, can tell you that the ds powers that be have broken all of the rules for being proactive. Plus one of the first things they teach in business is when a survey is sent out it implies an unspoken, unofficial contract that indicates things/changes will be done/made based on the survey results. Asking us for feedback on the beta site is the same thing as a survey. I know they aren't legally obligated to do anything, but morally and ethically, now that's a whole other ballgame!

The beta site was quite some time ago now... I can only imagine DS went to several sources to inspire their new site... They are still working on it... They are listening to people and making changes
From what I've seen others write about test sites and launches many changes do incur after the launch is made
This is 'our' site to make or break now in regards to boards moving or not... If we put some of the effort into it that we expect from DS I think we can make this a great place to be.....and DS is still listening and making changes.... So what are we as members going to do??... People have to decide that for themselves.... xo

Looking forward to the updates. I am hoping at some point we see bigger profile pictures on our profile. It is great we will be able to crop them but the only real way to tell what they are is looking at the members page. Even then it would be great to have a pinch tool. Only wishing! i enjoy looking at peoples avis! Looking at 100% right now to the <<left it is so tiny! Hehe.

Is there a chance posts will show most recent first at some point? It is especially bad on a handheld device. I have to scroll for days...

The RA forum is almost dead except three old members and one new one. We are trying to keep the group going, but it is so sad. We had such an active and supportive group, lots of experience with the disease, the medications and support for both newbies and people who have been suffering a long time.

My biggest complaint is the small amount of time we can remain signed in. I am a busy wanderer. I sign into DS, make some muffins, come back. Then I do some business things, come back. Then I fold laundry, come back.

Except the coming back is not happening, anymore. I even figured out how to get my IPad to retain the sign in email and password but this is so contrary to DS and every other forum I have ever been in. I just don't bother coming back. I don't bother signing in a lot of days.

So how many people are frustrated with this, who did get back in, and are not coming back regularly? Of course, coming back means a conversation with people. I post, do something, came back and 4 -10 people might have posted. So then, something new came up, so I post again. And so on.

Just not happening anymore. So I go to other groups, but not getting nearly the support the old DS gave me for RA. I just wish this nightmare would end, and we would have the old home pages, easy to access our forums, see what our friends are doing all in one place. And I miss all the regulars that never made it back. And what is with deleted_user instead of names?? I would like to know who those people are, even if they are gone, like it used to be.

There are SO many things that need to be fixed, some which are not even mentioned in your posting. Like I have to scroll down a million miles to press "Reply" to a message. Nothing mentioned in your post about that either. I appreciate all you guys are doing, and there is still a lot more that needs to be fixed.

SunCloudJD, you are indeed the eternal optimist in thinking that this site will make a go of it. But I am, and always have been, a realist. I think MyTrueColors has pretty well got it right in that basically they launched this site without proper development and code that is incomplete and full of bugs.... From a realistic standpoint it doesn't matter whatever tweaking they do this can not and will not ever be remotely as good as the old site. That's sad because anyone that has been here for any length of time knows how connected we all were on the old site, specifically for me on the WW site.... Whenever I come back for a look, the place is a ghost town with usually 0 to maybe 2 people online, Several other sites that I've checked seem to be deserted also. That's pathetic. The new people of course won't know the difference and maybe it will work for them, but I know a lot of the previous group from my time and before are gone and I've verified that through private contact with them. This new site is like a house of cards. Maybe I'm wrong and it will hold together, but it seems very precarious to me. The reality is that, along with other people I've talked too, I feel myself slowly drifting away from this site. I don't want to, but it just doesn't have any drawing power for me. I'm very sorry for the negativity in this reply but it is what it is. You know what they say about trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Good luck with that.

Will we ever get the ability to chat with those on line?

For me, it's less about being an eternal optimist, and more about adapting and persevering. I've been a member since 2007, after almost dying from a life threatening event. I owe my ability to emotionally recover from that to members of DS. And I'll be here when new members going through the same thing come to DS looking for anyone to help them through it. That's not optimism. That's just intention.
