The only time anyone got sick was a friend who drank too much coke with it and the excess sugar etc upset her. The changed to another mixer and all is good!

At first I thought you were kidding about how you made the hootch...but you're serious, right? And you have a soda machine!? How great is that? No wonder you said that people loved it straight, making a lot of sense, as too much sweet in a drink will do that. Soo, if you will; my next round will be straight!

Carly you have always had a choice about having it straight (though I would never recommend that), I would really recommend that it be mixed with something We use our our soda as we found that the aspartame was causing both of us problems and I can't have sugar so we found some mixer to use in the soda (water) that was free of the aspartame and sugar and we regulate the sweetness by diluting it with more soda water.

Ignore I wish you luck. DS only answers a very few of the posts on here and as this one has been going for a few days and they did read and remove some of the comments so the chances are they will only look at it again if there is some report of abuse made.

will ds allow banned members to return? probably not... do banned members manage to come back for awhile? probably . from what i've seen, banned members who come back under a different profile who appear to be nice and supportive on a discussion board still send out abusive hugs and messages. so where is the changed behavior?

there's always room for improvement on any site. i've been on here for three years; as a member, i've seen lots of changes, some good, some not so good. nothing is ever perfect.

Sambod I have seen quite a few banned people return. A few went very well - but they were usually ones who got caught up in some "fight" etc and ended up being banned along with a few others/ Those who are the abusive ones often do return and for a while things will be fine but eventually their true colours will out.

Like you, in my three years I have seen a lot of changes- some pretty good and others? Well let me just say that maybe they should have been sent into cyber space without passing "GO" LOL
And many in between.

Was trying to figure out if she or he was still banned. It sounded like it to me from what she wrote, but how did she respond if she is banned?

That explains Linda's name showing up but having no post as I THINK that when DS deletes a post the "last person" is then shown as the original poster.
Pity that it can't revert back to the person who was the last poster as it would certainly avoid confusion.

I know that sometimes DS admin goes in and cleans up posts that trolls have slimed. I have even had one or two of my replies removed from threads where I tried to counter some comments made by trolls.

This one appears to have 5 replies that have been removed.

Wondering why the post (by Ignore) would be deleted, as it seemed pretty harmless to me. But if it was a banned thing; still asking, how was she/he able to sign on?

I have been reading this tread from my email alerts and not the discussion page, so we do see postings that do not make it onto the thread....or should say, does not LAST long on the thread.

Wow - had I known so many people felt the same way as I did/do - I would have been back to comment sooner - I don't feel so alone after reading all of your comments.

For me, besides not being told why I'm warned, it has been the unfair handling of the warnings.

I had an issue with someone who was following me around and "yelling" at me in various posts - in hugs to her friends, etc. This went on for a few days and I FINALLY wrote in my personal journal what was happening but did not include any names.

My journal disappeared and I received a warning about my inappropriate something or other - but this person's comments to me, that were HORRIBLE stayed in place and I assume she received no warning.

That kind of irregular application of the rules bothers me a great deal. It felt like someone at the head of the complaint dept. at DS was playing favorites and that's REALLY unhealthy, IMO.

Also - since money seems to be at the base of most issues - I am assuming that keeping the overhead down and therefore the profit up - DS does not want to hire more people who would be able to address the complaints in a more responsible manner.

Linda - I think that you hit the nail on the head.
Since we were sold and then sold on this is all about profit it would seem now - really sad as I don't think it does anyone much good.

Was your journal open?
If not DS really had no right to remove a closed one. I have seen some pretty foul things in Journals that have been left up on DS.
And another friend of mine had one or two of her journals disappear too, but from memory she didn't get a warning.

You do bring up a very interesting point about who does and doesn't get a warning.
It seems that the person who does the reporting usually gets away with whatever he/she has done and the person they have reported (especially if they get a couple of their friends to report the person as well) gets their posts etc removed and warned and/or banned.

This happened repeatedly on the CP board a couple of years ago and the Diabetes one this past year where one person reported everyone around who dared to disagree with them and would bait them and in the end something would be said in defence and they would report them. Eventually, in both cases, the person who was actually causing the problem was reported by the people they were attacking and earned themselves a life ban because they made other accounts and returned while they were supposed to be serving their banned time.

But after all the posts are removed how are you supposed to know what you said and who you upset?

Yes my journal was open - but still.......I didn't post it all over the place - just my own little journal. I thought that was very odd - especially since I mentioned no names - just the actions of the party who was following me around making ugly comments.

And yes - it seemed to me that the judgment used by those doing the banning was faulty and the warnings given in an uneven manner.

The rest of your comments are right on the money and I do think they should spare a little extra change (didn't they sell DS for a total of $6 Million?) and hire some people that would pay attention in a more even manner.

Linda, might pay to lock your journal to friends in the future. My friend who had her's removed didn't mention names either. Nor were any names mentioned when we had problems on the two groups I was in where there were warnings and bannings. But they still got almost all of us one way or another.
Yes I think the first sale was a bit more than that but they might have lost money on the second one - bit hard to tell as we were part of the package it would seem.
But the fact that they paid so much for us would possibly mean that they have to recover that money (in paid ads) before they can spend anything on the site, apart form the basics that is. I think that we are run on a shoe string budget on the whole now.
I get a feeling with DS that it is a bit like the divide between the rich and the poor.....it is getting bigger.
In this case those in charge seem to be getting less and less connected with us the members.
Surely they realise that without us they have nothing? Sigh!
