Calling all book readers! What would be better than to read together in a group and discuss on here with your friends from Daily Strength?
I heard an NPR interview about a new fiction titled Dandelion is Dead. I didn't want to pay full price at $30, and the store clerk said paper back wouldn't be out for at least a year. A good friend bought it for me. The first four chapters are vulgar and not what I expected, but I'm very intrigued to finish it. (I was interested because the author said the recent death of her friend helped her process her grief through this book)

Huh. I am not all that happy with books that start out with a lot of vulgarity. I am noticing this in several new books I tried and I find it kind of strange. Big "love" scenes with details down to each part, a whole chapter to start about their intimacy, and then added in paragraphs for a while, details about each minute, and no need for that. Has almost nothing to do with the story. Let us know what you think when you finish this book. Am always curious about the books others read! I hope it turns out to be helpful to you in some way in your grief situation.

I just started A Marriage at Sea: A True Story of Love, Obsession, and Shipwreck by Sophie Elmhirst. It's good so far...no vulgarity yet. :)

My day...today...misplaced my debit card...didn't realize it until I got to the register after shopping to a full cart.
