Very true. It can be very stressful just trying to deal with the disease and trying to make the right choices for you. What is the best path for you. Just being so ill can make you stressed, upset, and depressed. Then certain doctors can try to tell you (I had one, who I ended up firing!) tell me that part of my problems was because I was depressed. Um...Hello? Get the pain, blood, etc under control and I would not be upset and depressed! That Dr was an idiot. I got rid of him as soon as I could and now have very good Dr.s and a very good GI taking care of me. Still it is hard and hard when other people don't understand. They can't understand when they have never had it happen to them.

The disease in of itself is very stressful. And yes, stress most definately triggers disease flare ups.

I don't have crohn's, I have UC but stress definitely plays a big part in it. If I'm having a bad day, the stress of all the running and the chance of being embarrassed usually only makes it worse. These diseases are not easy to deal with. I don't know how we are supposed to avoid stress, just do the best you can.. Other people just don't understand how hard it is for us and they probably never will.

Well I got to the point that doctors can't help me because after treatment with remicade and 6mp, I got a fungal infection in my left lung that it took them two years to detect and another year being this year to do something about it causing my lung to be removed but in all that time I was back and forth to the hospital for pneumonia and they kept treating me for it and checking for tb but never detected my infection. Now they're talking about treating me again since my surgery is out the way and I don't trust them anymore so I take supplements to treat my Crohn's now. You can buy it over the counter for cheap. Turmeric in a capsule or powder form, vitamin b-12 and vitamin d preferably 4000 iu strength.

wow, snoopwiz, so sorry to hear that happened to you. I just can't understand the incompetence in the medical community. It seems to me they should be held at a much higher standard than I also have experienced.
Mistakes like that never would not have flied in any big manufacturing or financial firm i worked for. Treating clients like that and I'm sure someone would be canned. Yet the medical community seems to have immunity to treating clients well and consequences of making mistakes, unless they are sueable moments. This of course is a general statement, There are great medical people out there, if you are lucky enough to find them!

Very true- nobody gets it. Not even doctors. Just those of us living the same "dream." I had to see my GI today. No good news there:-(

My son 26, just found out he has crohns. They said there was nothing they could do about? What? He bloods he gets stomach pains an mouth sores. I need a alternative here. Someone said tumric? Let me know please. A very loving mom will do anything to help her son!

got divorced from husb and 13 turbulent years with him and knowing he had a mistress. after he left, an artery got clogged up in my colon, and what I went thru the next 6 months is awful. as of right now, I feel like today is my last day ever though I am home. 80% of colon removed. I cannot help but blame him for all that stress. you won't believe it, but there was no one to take care of me when I got him, and he stepped in, it was advised I get a companion, but I was too afraid of what I was going to get. anyway, this is only temporary with him here.

please don't be too harsh on me, even thought he is and was a sh., I do need someone that knows me to help me here. and like I said, he does have his own apartment, it is just temporary...should I get a companion. a companion is $2,000 per month and you have to pay for their food.....who paid for my food when i was working? no one
