sad news-the passing of Hieroglyh

Dear Support Group:
I have extremely bad news. I am the bf and s/o of the woman you know as Hieroglyph. My name is Gene, "Hero's" real name was Deana. Deana died at home Thursday Feb 18th. Myself and her family are devastated by this. Deana often talked about the people in this community, and how helpful you were. Deana was one of the kindest and gentlest people I have ever known, and the fact she shared her life with me for nearly three decades is indeed the greatest gift I have ever received. She was the light of her family.
Deana sometimes talked about people she was communicating with in this group. I seem to remember a woman from (I think ) New Zealand who she spoke of fondly. Also some others, often they suffered from similar problems that she shared, such as depression and Crohn's.
In this awful situation, I have to report one bright spot. Deana always wanted a "green" funeral. She brought that topic up about 10 years ago, clipping an article from a magazine and showing it to me. Over the years, she read up on it. But the closest one in NY State was in Rome or Ithaca, which is far from us. I am happy to report that myself and her family were able to secure her final wish. A local cemetery just opened up two such sections a few weeks ago , one is a meadow, the other a forest section. Deana has found her rest in the forest. Looking over some of Deana's posts and her friend list, I don't know who came up with the nick "Hero", but I thank you as it certainly applies to her. Deana is showing the way.
I feel weird posting direct links to her obituary here, but if any of her friends want to msg me and leave me a note, I will gladly forward the information. (But please respect the privacy of her family). Also, you can email me directly, genexs'at'bestweb(dot)net .
best wishes to you all,
Gene S

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I'm keeping a good thought for you and her family.
Best wishes to you also,
Rachel A.
