I also had crazy insomnia for the first of treatment but I seem to have overcome it. Here is what I did.
My pharmacist recommended I supplement my magnesium and vitamin D intake
I take the prednisone first thing in the morning along with two supplement pills(natural Factors - Calcium & Magnesium Citrate with D) containing:
250 mg Calcium
250 mg Magnesium
20 mg Potassium
5 mg Zinc
1 mg Manganese
100 mcg Vit D3
At night before going to bed, I also take a supplement named "RelaxMax" from XYMOGEN. This product was recommended by our Natural Path. I am convinced this is what is helping me sleep.
It contains the following:
2000 mg Inositol
500 mg Taurine
75 mg Magnesium
100 mg GABA
50 mg Suntheanine L-Theanine
Ever since I started taking this I am able to fall asleep. I still wake up during the night around 4 AM, but am able to does till 6 AM or so. Whereas before taking this supplement I could not stay asleep for more than 30 minutes at time.
Hope this helps.
Good luck w the sleeping. Meletonin sounds like good idea. I have taken Xanax, and muscle relaxer, but still only slept like an hour or two.
What I really wanted to say is that about a year ago, I went to health store and got liquid Aloe, and drank a few ounces every day for a couple-few months. My following colonoscopy showed improvement, and I havn't had much bleeding since. For 14years I had bleeding. I was even anemic at one point from the bleeding. I wanted to share this with you. GK
