Nulytely Help! Cleansing for Colonostrophy

From anyones experience, has your doctor been able to salvage a bad colon cleansing and still hold a productive colonostropy? I am cleaning for my colonostropy tomorrow, but have thrown up 60-70% of my Nulytely cleaning solution. When I threw up, I had drunk the whole half gallon of solution, and my bowels were almost yellow clear. To make up for throwing up, I took two Dulcolax and drank 4 cups of water. I plan on calling the doctor in the morning, but until then, I wanted to know if anyones had a similar experience.

I've not thrown up from it, but I've had situations where it didn't clean me out as well as it should have, and I had to have a couple of enimas at the hospital right before the colonoscopy.

If you're going clear yellow, that's pretty good actually.

i do a lot of medical coding for colonoscopies so i get to read lots of procedure reports. Very seldom do i read that they could not do a procedure due to bad prep. They usually just note it and if needed give the patient an enema. You sound like you are ok since you see yellow and not brown.

Explain the problem to the hospital/doctor. Last time I had a colonoscopy same thing happened to me. I threw up the crap at the end. I was taking the pill form. Next colon test I will just fast for a week. No more strong drinking laxatives. Not my favorite test. Prep day is always hard. I think you will be fine.

I can not get through a bottle of Nulytely withou throwing it up. As long as the bowels are running clear or yellow you should be okay. Last prep was stuff poured into Gatorade so there wasn't so much to drink. Chilled and drinking the stuff through a straw helps.

Before my colonoscopy, I was taking that stuff Fleet. It gave me a really bad migraine and I felt as if it raised my blood pressure to a dangerous level. I could only do one prep. I decided to stop taking it and went in the morning because the nurse could not give me a straight answer. The doctor told me he didnt believe my blood pressure was high but made me go home and fast again, and prescribed a different prep agent. A couple months later the FDA recalled Fleet and stated it was unsafe for colonoscopy preps.

Anyway, after having trouble finding the one they prescribed, the pharmacist helped me get one called Video-Prep, i am not sure how it is spelled. I had to drink it with a TON of water but it tasted almost like sprite with no side effects. It cost me about $50 but it was well worth it since I didnt make me ill.

I just did the Miralax / Gatorade prep. It went really smooth, and it was easier to choke it all down than the Nulytely.

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
