I've not. When I first started Imuran, I'd get headaches but that's it.

Just be careful with Excedrine, as it has aspirin in it whic h people with IBD typically should be avoided. They can make your UC symptoms worse, cause bleeding, etc.

Yes, I get migraines- but I figured it was from the prednisone use......

I have had migraines for over 30 years. I had them manangeable, but 3 years ago when I got uc they got worse and frequent.a I believe that the uc causes inflammation all over and it made me more sensitive to gluten, dairy, sugars, onion, garlic soy,, now these cause migraines after uc.. I really have to watch what I eat., and there is a gut and head connection here.

I get headaches that are bad they only seem to come on with a noticeable weather change... like high pressure systems rolling in.
Feels like my head is going to burst... i can hardly touch my head my teeth everything hurts. I take whatever's in the cupboard & if that doesn't fix it - I see a Chiropractor and that seems to do the trick...
I don't take any meds so it not like it could be caused by drugs interacting for me... I wonder if they are seeing headaches in many?
New research is always going on! My daughter is doing some of this research right now the goal is cancer but discoveries are being made for autoimmune diseases they are testing now & by 2012 they have hopes of drug manufacturing... Keep progress lifted in prayer!

Yes I do get a lot of headaches, and I suppose we all would be predisposed to headaches for many reasons....the inflammation factor as previously mentioned. Also, this is often a dehydrating disease, so that can cause headaches too. Then throw in a bunch of meds, and you've got a recipe for a headache.
I also agree, I don't think Excedrins are good for the gut. Maybe some vicodin instead. :-)

I agree on the dehydration thing. I get headaches generally due to two reasons- sinus pressure headaches (mine whole face hurts when atmospheric pressure changes too) and dehydration. And I suspect many of us with IBD are chronically dehydrated.

Jan of last year I had sever migraine for 3 month followed by a very bad UC flare up. Later during the year I got similar headaches, followed by some bleeding. My UC is almost under control and I don't have any headaches either. I guess for me mirgraines are the warning sign for a flare-up.
