meds and nightmares

I was just wondering..ever since I got uc with some meds I get bad dreams. I first noticed it when I was given flagyl. Weird dreams with creepy monsters or past memories. It goes until I stop taking them. I am in remission, not on steriods. My allergy meds and am on a antbiiotic for sinus infection right now. I did not have this before uc. Seem even more sensitive to herbs and or spices. Thanks

Hi,
In my case I had terrible pains and could hardly get any sleep...I have since recoovered fully from terrible UC....using Natural proven health methods....Have no Pain ,No mucus and No Bleeding ... I followed was from book by Dr david Klein...I have posted a great on this...as you are in remmision you just need to keep your colon healthy...this can be done easily and possibly may be able to come of drugs altogether as I did from Predsol enema ( I had very high Dosages)...If you need any help or info on routine ...message me...Good Luck....

I don't know if nightmares are a specific side effect, but I certainly think it's possible. I also think when we aren't sleeping well, our dreams can get really, really messed up. I know mine do. I think hormones changes can cause this. Don't quote me on that but I've got some theories ;)

This probably isn't really the same thing, but I find it interesting: My husband's grandmother is 94 years old and they've got her on all kinds of meds, which I don't really understand when you're that old, but what do I know. Anyway, she's been having nightmares and actually starting to suffer from hallucinations. The doctor she's now seeing thinks it's all related to her being completely over medicated.

OMG I had nightmares when on flagyl they were very very real.....I also found when I was on prednisone I hallucinated big time~ good luck with that, when I stopped those drugs I was fine again :)

Yeah, I get nightmares from meds - prednisone and flagyl were bad. Just came off cymbalta, and had nightmares on that too. Allegron was the worst. I just came off some antibiotics for sinus and that caused weird dreams too.
I think it's 'normal' on the meds.

Wow. Thankx for posting this question.. I've been having some really awful nightmares, and I didn't know the heck why.. I didn't even think about it having something to do with the flagyl or any of my meds. I was on it about a week.. and had nightmares for about that long.. even a few nights after I was off the drugs. I think you might be right though. Cause now that you ask, I can see the connection.

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
