I have problems staying away from sweets too but stopped eating red meat and no corn or nuts and limted ruffage in the begining. I try not to eat too many spicy foods and def no alcohol although I read that one glass of wine here and there wouldn't hurt but I don't like wine, lol
It's weird the only time I have a drink is once a year at a Crohn's and collitus benefit that I go to, lol but usually never finish

Of course, dietary changes to improve your health are great! I just feel like UC is already a crappy disease and so if you can't enjoy the foods you like ones in a while when in remission, well that is a pity.
