I'm not in that area, but most ERs should be able to assess your situation and treat you if needed. You could just google best hospitals in your area and if it's a highly rated hospital, the ER should be fine.

If you have a GI doctor already, you may also want to go choose an ER in a hospital that your GI is affiliated with. That way they can defer to him.

I think I am going to be ok. The Bleeding has slowed or stop as far as I can tell. Still in pain but can deal with that. Don't know where this one came from but it has been the worst i had in over a year. I only want to go to the ER if I have to. Something feels different this time, Hoping for the best. I going to lay back down and see what happens in the next 24. I still want to find friend in the area.

Call your GI on Monday for sure, even if symptoms improve. Things can all get very out of hand very quickly.

Don,t have a GI Do you know what that cost. So when I HAVE to I go to ER that has one. I tried to see one in Key West he want 200 dollars to fill out the paper work on how I am going to pay him then a 6 month wait. I am hoping to go back to Thailand. It is cheaper to fly around the world for a colonoscopy. Yeah I know what it costs because I have a colonoscopy yearly at this point. Good luck.

Still bleeding how much is too much

I don't think it's something you can measure, like X amount is an ok amount, but Y amount is a problem. You could have blood cells in your stool you can't see as well. I responded to your other post too. Blood is not ever normal.

Get on the horn with a GI doctor now. When people ask for hospitals I always recommend major teaching hospitals in the area and a trauma ER's are going to have great ER docs and teaching hospitals usually have excellent surgeons. Check with CCFA about doctors and hospitals in your area and also check Google for reviews about each doctor and surgeon. You have to be pro active with your care and not only make a food diary but make a list of GI doctors and hospitals to go too. For me I live in Los Angeles and I am in the UCLA systems but there are many good doctors in my area because I live in a larger
city but if you are having a blockage pain you must go to your closest ER hospital. I hope you feel better soon.

I forgot to mention it is important to pick a GI that is connect well with the hospital or is on the teaching staff. They can get you in to the ER faster. They will call the ER in advance to say you are coming in and that helps speed up the process when the hospital already has your records which include recent CT scans and colonoscopies. I find that helps get your pain mess faster too. When you have a compete blockage you need you an IV line, NG tube and morphine for pain.
