Heloo all...

I am crohns patient since 2001.... I have been treating bu steroid Asacol and Imuran.... and had surgery and lots of fistula for the last years and i am 28 now.
Now i started Humira 6 months a go and doing very good and no pain and energy ..
My quation is am so worried about the side effectes it seems scary and it a dangerous medication it can couse cancer , brain damage and sometimes death ...i am worried how is ur thought on this ?? can we carry on risking our life ?? am so confused .

I hear you I have Crohn's living with me.
and that user of Cimzia treatments.
so they tell me the benefit of these types of medication far outweigh there dangerous side effects.

dumbing down my immune system does not seem to be the best thing to me what I try to believe in him doing it .

It is a risk/benefit thing. Are the possible serious side effects worth the risk of getting your Crohns under control. There is something to be said about your quality of life now, vs potential serious side effects that may or may not occur.

I am not on Humira but I would look at it similar to how I'd look at chemo if I had cancer. There are serious potential side effects for chemo, like lung tissue damage, heart problems, infertility, kidney problems, etc. I'd not deny myself chemo because of possible side effects that may or may not happen. But that's me.

Imuran has it's own serious, weird potential side effects. I've been on it since 2008, I think and in a solid remission since 2009. I feel great and am doing well. I feel so lucky there's a medication that helps me live a very high quality life.

life is short and lets do all things that make us well and move each day wiz happiness and stress ..from now on i am in to this side ..

No worries for things that may or may not happen... it's so true. Most of the things in my life I've spend my energy fretting and worrying about never happened. And so you think, that could have been time better spent on other things.
