I've been well for many years since my diagnosis of CD and subsequent resection 20 years ago. This year I've had to deal with deciding to move back to my home province KZN (1600km away) leaving my adult son and my husband to live and work in Cape Town. I was very unhappy there and moving back home to our own house had been an absolute joy.
However the packing and organising and finding the men another house was physically hard and stressful. Our home and garden to which I was moving back had been trashed by the tenant and the fleas!!!!!!!! Even on the lawns ... the tenant chopped down and even burned mature trees in my garden. I was devastated.
So what with that and a small lump in my breast and a manky hip which just about gave out from all the labour I suddenly experienced cramps and tenderness and bloating. It's scary isn't it?
I've just had a CT scan because my gastroenterologist felt a vague lump on my colon. On Monday I'm have a colonoscopy.
This flare up must have been brought about by all the stress of the year.
I'm very thankful to have such an excellent specialist caring for me. His practice and the hospital he operates in are about 50km away which is nothing.
There are no support groups like this in SA that I know of probably because our population is much smaller than that of the USA. So I am thrilled to meet you all and I have learned so much from your posts. The day to day symptoms and feelings that I didn't even realise were part of my Crohn's.
Wishing you all well from a wintery Hilton --- Louise Benson.
So it was there all along and I didn't know.
