crohns and ulcerated boils
JustSimplyMe
I was diagnosed with crohns at the age of three and apart from one instance about seven years ago I never had any boils. Within the last year or so though I've had about ten boils, a few in my hip area and the rest on/around my feet and ankles. Around Christmas I had one on my right ankle that ulcerated, it was very painful and took a couple months to heal. I thought it was a sort of a one time deal, it ulcerating, but then about a week and a half ago I noticed two boils on my left ankle, annoying but not a huge deal, however within a few days they had ulcerated. My foot and part of my leg became swollen and the hole in my leg became a little bigger then a quarter and quite deep. After being in agony for a few days I finally went to the er yesterday. I was told it us a stage three ulceration, it's down into the soft tissue and if it were to get any deeper it will be to the bone. They've put me on antibiotics and hopefully I will start to see improvement in a few days, but I was wondering if anyone else with crohns dealt with this? Or if anyone has any recommendations for things that may speed up 'd healing process? I tried Epsom salt before going to the er but it strangely only seemed to make it worse. I've read online that vitamin c, e, and a are all good for it but I can't find dosage suggestions anywhere. I've also been told garlic and a high protein diet should help as well. Anyone know of any other foods or treatments may be beneficial? Also if anyone knows a way to prevent getting them in the first place I'd appreciate it. This is excruciatingly painful and i'm ready to be done with it!!

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
If it were me, I'd just take the treatment prescribed and try to keep the areas clean, make sure clothes are rubbing against them, etc. But I'd definitely press your doc for answers and recommendations in prevention.
Hope things get better soon!
