I was recently diagnosed with UC and have gained 10 pounds within 8 days after starting a hydrocortisone anti-inflammatory drug. Does anyone know any treatments that won't cause weight gain?

asacol (mesalazine) is a 5ASA drug which is the first tier of treatment meaning it's normally the first type of drug the specialist will put you on. It works for a lot of people however it doesn't for others. I was on a 5ASA drug (different one) and I ended up having an allergic reaction to it and had to be taken off it whilst my partner's mum is on it and has been in remission for 2 years so it's different for everyone.

How is the weight issue going? For yoga, try look at the one on the exercisetv.tv website they have a 20min 'zen in your den' workout it's really relaxing yet still makes u feel as if you are working your body. :)

the weight issue is good. its all coming off in liquid form I've lost 4 pounds in three days. As for yoga this weekend i am going to a class with my mom so I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for the info about asacol :)

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
