Also you will probably have to be off work for at least a year proving that you can not work. For this I suggest getting a Doctor to put you on temporary state disability.
The first things to do are to look into the temp. disability and to talk to a lawyer that deals with SSD.

If you live in a state without benifits than you won't qualify.
In order for someone with IBD to qualify for federal disability you have to have some of your intestines removed.
