Do I have to buy pulse oximeter?

I think you would find the pulse oximeter a big help in
monitoring yourself.

Others may have different prices but they seem to run in
the $35 to $50 range.
Anyone get them for less recently ???
The one my son got was $45 and free shipping.

My day starts at 4 am 6 days a week. This is so I can leave for work at 6 am. Everything I do takes me longer now because it takes energy. Some mornings I need to use my nebulizer and vibrate my back and every morning its some pills and a couple inhalers for breakfast. I run a small rural post office. I had managed a larger unit since 2008 but in February this year it was decided that I couldn't hold up to a full day so now I exchanged with another postmaster and now i close at lunch for the day. Still kicks my butt on some bad days but I have been having good breathing days the past couple of weeks so the bad days are a memory for now. I have used 02 at night for almost 2 years and as of late if I feel exertion at work I strap on my "nose hose" as oxyman refers to the cannula. Its such a small city that my customers have become used to seeing me with me lugging my concentrator on a little cart and now they comment on the times I don't have it on.
I try my best not to try to compare myself to the old me but I was having problems for years before I finally admitted the cigs had to go

Lovethekitties, I am looking forward to working part time as I get so tired 1/2 way through my shift. I understand that one. I just don't have enough breath to take me through the whole day. Plus I work shifts, I'm usually ok when I work 10-6 or even 11-7, but 1-9 or 2-10 really hurts. My lungs start to hurt and I want to sleep by 9pm.

I am on sick leave for the moment and thank god the Pulmonary Rehab has come up or I may have had to pass on it. Maybe it will give me the stamina to endure the whole day.

my day depends on if i'm having a good day or bad day.
(i never make solid plans any more cuz i don't know how i will feel when i wake up each day)
today i have been trying to get "motivated" to get in the tub, wash my hair, get dressed & go to the store. (and i feel okay today, i just can't seem to get "motivated")

3pm & the tub is run.........

okay----i'm going ..... (when did just bathing & dressing become a days job?)

I know exactly what you're talking about. That is why my day starts at 4 am to leave for work at 6am. Everything about getting ready takes longer. Even brushing my teeth I sit on the commode so I don't get winded. I have come to hate washing my hair because I don't like the water running in my face anymore. Its too much like drowning and I have to hold my breath....which means I have to think about my breath....which for some reason when I think about my breathing and am I getting enough air far enough down etc.. I get anxious. In this heat I have to since my hair almost daily cause of sweat.

Started out great - got my press releases published, ate 2 poached eggs, some colby cheese and cheries for b'fast with a cup of coffee. I'm working replacing some wood around the doors and windows and said the hell with this and changed to go to the gym - got dizzy in the car and turned around and went back home . . . sat for a while and felt a better and went to Walmart to buy another power screw driver with the intent of working out at my home gym and got back home and had a cup of coffee and said - I think I'll watch the History channel instead and here I sit. Missed the gym and disappointed about that I'll try and catch up on Friday tomorrow and Saturday . . . May try to go to the movies tonight and see Dinesh's movie "AMERICA"

@KITTIES - I brush my teeth in the kitchen sink and shampoo my hair in the same place . . . a shower is a 45 second event at night but the kitchen sink thing solved my problem because it's so much higher :-)
