I tried spiriva about 3times,and each time it seemed to help my breathing,but i also had chest pains with it.or i believe it was the spiriva.when i stopped taking it the pains stopped.

I don't know. I can't figure out if it's helping or not. I have missed a few days, some of those days were bad days. I don't know if it's because of the spiriva or I was just having a bad day. It definately isn't a med that you take and feel anything. If you take your rescue inhaler you feel better really soon. I find the same with advair but it takes longer to take affect. I don't feel anything with spiriva. If your expecting a kick, it ain't happening, lol. Anyway, that's my experience.

I did learn this tip in rehab. They told me to take albuterol the first thing in the morning to open up my airways really good. Then take my spiriva. It is a powder so you inhale deep and fast to get the powder deep in your lungs and not all over you tongue and thereabouts. You'll hear a funny rattle when you do it right.
