i\'ve been using this for almost a week now. i couldn\'t tell any difference. then i re read the instructions! hey, you have to push the side button to pop it open! i\'ve been inhaling....NOTHING!!!! just thought i remind people to read the instructions.

My husband has been using Spiriva for about 6 months now, his lung volume has increased about 20%. This was pretty incredible considering he still smokes.

I just started Spiriva, in conjunction with Advair and Albuterol w/Air Chamber. The addition of Spiriva has helped tremendously, but I think it's because I do the other two treatments

I've had COPD for 6 years and have read in the forum about how much good Spiriva is doing, so, I asked my family doctor for a prescription. I've now been on Spiriva for nine days and breathing alot better and feeling much, much better. Yesterday I drove my Air Flow meter up from 210 to 310 which is great.
Take Advair 500/50 first and then Spiriva a few momemts later. Have Albuterol inhaler--which I never use. Spiriva has truly been a terrific medicine for me.

Do you have a website to the company you get the oil from. Does the il smell?

I got this at the place where I get my massages. You can Google the name and you will be taken to several places where you can buy it. It is a bit expensive, and it smells like cloves and peppermint. I was told to first apply some vegetable oil, then the Panaway oil. It's worked for me! Just a recommendation. Nothing more.

I've been on Spiriva since last March. Can't really tell if it's doing any good or not since I also take Xopenex.

I tried using Spiriva about 4 weeks ago. The first puff, I thought a miracle had occurred! I could actually breathe in a completely satisfactory breath and my lung function went up by 40! Unfortunately, after three days, I was progressively becoming more and more breathless until it seemed I could not breathe at all; I had enormous difficulty in swallowing, cold sweats, swollen tongue, blocked nose, abdominal pain, I felt overwhelmingly tired and my skin felt like I had bugs crawling under it and an itchy sensation as well. My skin became flushed, mainly my face and upper chest, blurred vision and I couldn't stop burping. At this stage, I reported it to my specialist and I had to cease using it immediately. I have to say that I feel heartbroken, as this is a medicine I've been told by many doctors and now heard of so many experiences of you and others, where this drug is able to reverse the effects of COPD and make breathing easier. As I write this, I amj crying all over again. Sorry

Been on Spiriva for about a year and it has helped tremendously. Previously I was on Atrovent 2 puffs 4 times a day. Then the fall allergy season started here and I was more SOB than I have ever been. Doc added Foradil to the inhalation meds but that didn't do a thing, so I stopped it. Now the fall allergy season seems to be waning and I am breathing better. So Spiriva is doing its good. I couldn't take Tiova, something about the stuff it's mixed with but Spiriva from USA is good. I get Medicare in December so then drugs will be a lot cheaper for me. Breath easy! Luv, Charlotte

I have used spiriva several years.Have used it since it was released here.(Canada)
It seems from variuous posts I have read in several places that it is either a Godsend (as it is for me) or a flop..don't recall hearing anyone say it worked just so-so.
I have had the odd occasion when I have missed a dose.Find out then EXACTLY how well it works!
Personally I think it's the best stuff to gome down the pike yet.

I personally think it has some sort of steroid ocmponent in it. My body has really shown other issues since taking that med and while it seems to help me breathe better it was all at the cost of making me dependent on it. I take it because i can't function without it and I am very upset over it! Personally I think we are going to hear on how it has damaged out esophagus later and it will be to late to do much about it. I so wish someone had an alternative..I want off but can't get to my other room without it!

P.S. Everything we take has a cost to another part of our body...where does the spirvia that doesn't come out go?

I was very disappointed when Combivent was discontinued since I found this to be the most effective of the various inhalers I'd used. I had previously been prescribed Spiriva, the replacement for Combivent, but didn't find this helpful because of my inability to inhale the powdered medication, most of which gets stuck in my mouth. I have the same problem with Advair 500 and am presently trying to get that exchanged for Advair 250.

Loyd, advair 500 is the dosis you need to take, you can't exchange it for 250, that won't take the lactose out
