Hello all, I have Pneumonia (not my first rodeo either) my doctor put me on Levofloxacin, Prednisone and Prometh w/cod. However, I have such a headache that it feels that my head will explode. I am not a cry baby but this headache is making me cry.

As anyone ever had this, I never had such a headache with my previous bouts of pneumonia. Also, if I don't get somewhat better by Friday, he wants to put me in the hospital. Not sure why he picked that day, but also I am watching my grand-daughter until SAturday. My daughter is away on a training session with her new job.

I didn't tell her I have pneumonia because I know she will come home and I am afraid she will lose her new job. I don't think one day would matter.

Any Advise? (especially the headache, because I am ready to take my head off)

Maybe call Ask a nurse, or the ER. See what they say about it.

Oh poor you :(
I get headaches from codeine stuff, so I looked up your cough syrup and sure enough.....common side effect. Says to contact your Dr if it's persistent or bothersome.

Get someone to watch your grandchildren, then go Urgent Care or the ER. I had a headache like that thirty plus years ago and it was the worse sudden pain I've ever experienced in my life. This kind indicate a brain bleed, precursor to a stroke all kinds of things that a Doctor needs to look at ASAP! Please don't wait until Friday! Not trying to scare you or be over dramatic, but this type of pain is nothing to put off checking into. God Bless

The last time I was on prednisone I got a severe headache and dizziness and my blood pressure went sky high. I ended up in the hospital for three days before they could get the BP to come down. I was advised ot to ever take prednisone again unless I was in a hospital. Prednisone is known for elevating BP. A high BP causes headaches. Get to doctor or ER soon!

I am sorry for you illness and the pain you are suffering. Headache can be caused by a lack of oxygen; high blood pressure; or your medications. I would call your doctor's office; and explain that you have not had this reaction previously. Best wishes on healing.

Awww MOMM!!!

I'm so SORRY you have pneumonia, and this headache that is making you feel like screaming, but screaming would probably hurt your head!

Hang in there, and yes...please let us know how you made out with your headache and the dr appt.

I'm praying and thinking of you my friend, and hope you feel better very soon! You have to get better, it's Thanksgiving soon, and you don't WANT TO BE in the hospital for their turkey , cause I'm sure it totally stinks!!

thank you all so much for your kindness. I am doing so much better now, it seems the headache was from the Prometh w/cod. After he took me off that , my headache seem to get better.

As anyone knows with Pneumonia, it seems to take forever to get better, I still feel weak, but I am breathing much better. Or should I say I AM BREATHING. lol...

But seriously, it meant so much to me to have so many really care about you, thank you thank all!!!
