I agree Love the kitties, get to the hospital ASAP, I don't think you can cure it yourself, get to a good hospital too. Here in Canada, the bigger ones are better.

with all you have been going thru lately it sounds like you need to get in & get on some antibiotics!
personally, when i am in an exacerbation only antibiotics gets me out of it & whenever i've had pluerasy i was given antibiotics to get rid of it.
the faster you get on antibiotics the faster they can start working to get you better!

i seem to be pushing antibiotics today, but that in my experience that is what has helped me in these situations.

also, when i want/need faster releif a "shot in the a**" followed by oral medication gets working faster.
i asked the dr why they don't give shots like the old days & he said people don't like shots---gosh, i don't like shots, but if it will get me better i'll take one LOL

I can either be dry in which the tissues rub together and cause great pain. Or it and be wet in which the area fills with fluids and collapse the lung. Better do something soon!

Do you mind if I ask how you know it is pleurisy? Have you had it before or have you been to the doctor?

I agree with the others. Take this to a doctor, ER if necessary. I am not a doctor and will not offer medical advice about something we are not sure of.
I read the web page about pluresy, and it is something a medical doctor needs to evaluate, since it could be a lot of things and some very severe.
So please take care of your self and get this treated. remember we care about you

I get pleuretic chest pains when I get a lung infection. It feels like the worst pain I can imagine, to the point that I am afraid to take a breath for fear it will come back. Usually on the lower right side and front of my chest. See a doc...

Oh I almost forgot. I had a pleurisy diagnosis one time after a bronchitis attack. Dr said he could hear the rubbing sounds in my lungs. Prolly the worst pain in my life. He prescribed a few days off and more antibiotic.

Interesting topic....I live with constant pain very similar to Pleurisy, yet all the CT-Scans cannot pinpoint where it comes from.....The closest I can get is that its Musculosketal Pain with Arthritis thrown in for good measure....

Ive lived with this for over 2 years and pain meds do very little...not the big gun meds that's almost impossible to get on but stuff like Tramadol n Codein based paracetomol...

I had very bad pain that seemed to come in waves. My (then) doctor diagnosed pleurisy and said I should take aspirin for the pain. He might have given me antibiotics, I just can't remember. Nevertheless, nothing helped. I eventually went to another doctor who, after some extensive testing, diagnosed esophageal spasms. They are INCREDIBLY painful and mimic angina and pleurisy. The solution? Nitroglycerin tablets. As soon as I feel the onset of a spasm, I take a nitro pill and poof! The pain is gone. The moral of this story: You should find a doctor who keeps searching for the reason for your pain.
