...since I know cat lovers, my mom for instance, kind of collect cats. Mom was often up to 5 or 6 that she'd saved or just showed up at the door maybe because they could sense an ideal cat situation in the house or maybe just saw all the cats around the house and thought they looked like great company and decided to move in themselves. You'd be surprised how much that has happened too.. Lol.....She has been gone going on 4 years and I still have 3 of the 5 she left to me. 2 cats and a dog have gone to meet her at the clearing at the end of the path. No complaints from me on the animals mind you, I love them and they are like furry hot water bottles sleeping in my bed in the cold Canadian winter.
and I know it will work out to be the best decision you could
have made for your own well being and happiness.

I was wondering about the kitties too but was kind of afraid to ask.
Because if you tell me you can't take them I will be heartbroken!
He is deathly afraid of debilitating illnesses and getting "old". I am a constant reminder that it can happen to anyone and that terrifies him. He has tried to ignore the disease and spoke of my "asthma" and said COPD is another made up alphabet disease like RA CFS etc... I am living proof that these diseases not only exist but cannot be "cured". He still believes that with proped diet and care that the lungs regenerate. It must be awful to watch someone that you saw as your partner fall by the wayside and realize that they won't ever catch back up again. He is not ready yet for his life to slow down.
About my six babies....we are each keeping one older (14years old) cats and each keeping one gigantic cats (over 20 lbs) and each taking one cat with special needs. 3 apiece. Of course my old baby with stomach cancer is one of the ones staying with me and I have one with a congenital bowel problem called "mega colon" that requires a special diet is coming with me. The other is my huge baby girl that will be my spirit guide into my next realm when the time comes. I am quite happy with the division.
Again I want to thank everyone for the support and love. Wouldn't it be something if I me someone elso at my new place who suppers with COPD? A whole lot of the residents are deaf which will be great when I pratice at my accordian.
Sandy I am glad you get to keep some of your fur babies and that you are at peace with the demise of your marriage.
To love and to cherish in sickness and in health till death do us part is the way it is supposed to be.
Unfortunately it does not always turn out that way.
You are going to feel sadness and even miss him at times, because you have invested 15 years in this marriage. After taking a bit to grieve for the loss of your marriage, and the loss of the person who was suppose to be a life partner, please know it is far the best for both of you.
He was nice enough to help you ????Heck, that should have been expected of him. You should not hate him, but rather feel pity for him, because sometimes in the future, reality is going to come up and slap him in the face.
And when he starts feeling guilty for how he treated you, and he will, just smile and tell him thanks, and close the door .
You have the beginning of a new life, and it may be bumpy at first, but hang in there, and keep the faith, and it will get better.
I was married for almost 12 years, and after we separated and divorced (I had 2 little kids, and I was the one who left) and I went thru a million emotions that first year.
No child support, worked 2 jobs, no help from anyone but my church and family. I resented him so much !!!!(No child support for years)
But 15 years later, we are friends, and make much better friends than a couple. But I loved my freedom and my chance to grow and learn , and to keep 2 kids happy .
I went thru several years of giving everyone an excuse for him, and finally I realized, he was an adult, he could speak for himself, and I was thru enabling him.
I am glad he helped you, and he will again, I am sure. But do not lose your self there, be your own person. You probably will meet someone with copd, it seems to be everywhere Be happy
BJ
Come to terms with the situation and forgive, but never forget, never!!!
And act accordingly! - I had to learn this lesson the hard way.
I think not many would stay in that setup. I may have to forgive him: )
