is anyone else having problems with lincare doing medicare audits and as a result they won't furnish things (like my POC) until it is over?
and they can't tell me when i will be done auditing----it's been 2 months so far.
one other man i know is having audit also & they wouldn't furnish him his needed lines & canulas until it is over.
this just doesn't seem right to me & i wonder if i am being "picked on" just because i'm on medicare or if this is normal.

I read this when you originally posted it but did not reply because I was in the middle of getting Lincare as my new supplier because the Medicare competitive bid program took my old supplier off the list.
Actually, I first contacted them June 2 and finally had to call Medicare today for help. Medicare has a Competitive bid program specialist. She listened to what was happening and asked if I would stay on the line while she called Lincare.
Bottom line.......Friday, I was told by Lincare that it would be another two weeks for them to order the equipment. Today (Monday) they told Medicare that they had the equipment and would set up a time to deliver it tomorrow. Well, it didn't happen that easy as the Medicare rep had to prompt her more than once to commit to when the equipment would be in my possession.
it was amazing what the co rep told the Medicare person but I keep notes on all conversations with doctors and vendors time stamped and dated. That way I can keep track of what I have done or need to do.
So Jarca, I think it was not just you that they were being less than professional with as they seem to be an equal opportunity stress-or and we being the stress-ees.
I am keeping them at this point because the Medicare card has already been played and I think they should work out to be a good vendor. At least that is my hope..
Maybe there will be an addendum in a few days but I really hope not.addendum
i've loved lincare for 3 years of using them now...they are much better than the "other" choice here in hooterville.
i guess they get audited once a year (aftr april tax time) and during the audit they can't "change" what i have as they don't get paid during that time.
in the meantime i still get all my regular supplies & tanks to travel with---i just wanted the portable concentrator for the summer to travel with :(
i called her yesterday to arrange sending a concentrator & some M6 tanks to my sons that i'm going to next weekend and they are doing that, but she says they still haven't gotten thru audit so i can't have the portable concentrator yet.
i sure hope i like the thing when/if i ever get it LOL
