I am determined to get my health back, ( I am sick of being sick !!)
I had gotten so bad that I was out of breath just standing up.
So I decided to pull the plug, I had lost all hope ever getting better and did not want to continue living,
So i told my son what my intentions were, and after a 3 hr conversation
he talked me into trying again to get my health back.
He is very much into health and natural foods, he also believes strongly in meditation.and that the body can heal itself of many things if we know how to tap into it.
4 days after a diet change, some deep breathing using the diaphragm
to fully empty the lungs,(the lower part of the lungs) and 2 breathing treatments of DMSO in a nebulizer i can now walk to the kitchen and back just a little short of breath.
and lowered my 02 setting from 5L PM to 3 LPM
It doesn't sound like much but I am thrilled to be able to do this.
I don't know just what part of this is helping or maybe its the combination of all of it..
I would love some input from my friends here...please read the following.
and visit the website, I am curious if anyone has heard of this or
Tried it,
Also would like to know if anyone has tried any of the suggested treatments,
and if so how with much success,
I know we have been over some of this before but we also have new people in our group who may not have heard any of this,

Hydrogen Peroxide is an amazing remedy for so many ailments, including as a natural COPD treatment. Many people prefer to inhale it for
this disease. Simply put a 3% solution in a nebulizer and inhale it or drink it. H2O2 baths are effective as well. www.dfwx.com/h2o2.htm has
food grade hydrogen peroxide for sale, and plenty of details on how to use it for internal health.
MSM is an excellent COPD treatment for helping to strip accumulated bio-films from the lungs. Start with 1 tsp. 3 times a day with plenty of
water. Gradually increase to 1 Tbsp. 3 times a day, mixed in plenty of water.
DMSO mixed fifty percent with water in a nebulizer, is reported to be very effective COPD treatment for reducing build ups in the lungs which
helps to greatly reduce COPD symptoms.
Colloidal Silver is reported to be very helpful for COPD patients, especially in those suffering from chest infections. Patients claim that by
using it in their nebulizer as soon as their sputum changes from clear to yellow, it keeps the infection from advancing any further.
Virgin Coconut Oil is reported to be a big help to those with COPD. Simply by taking a tsp. or two with meals, or in tea or room temperature
juice, it's said to thin the mucous making it easy to cough up, and it opens the nasal passages as well.
Thyme is very beneficial as a simple tea that you just sip, for those suffering from COPD symptoms. It is helpful for many COPD symptoms,
including upper respiratory infections.
Turmeric is a very effective home remedy for bronchitis, one of the main contributors of COPD symptoms. Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder
should be administered with half a glass of milk, two or three times daily. Or take it in capsules. It acts best when taken on an empty stomach.
Other herbs that can be used as a natural COPD treatment, are Garlic, Licorice, Indian Tobacco (Labelia), and Marshmallow. Probably the best
expectorant, which will loosen the mucus and make it easier to cough up is Eucalyptus. A great way to avoid having to use COPD oxygen, is
to add a few drops of the essential oil of Eucalyptus to a humidifier, and just breathe in the air, especially when your having trouble breathing.
Many COPD patients swear by this simple technique.
The Elemental Miracle along with a few of these other remedies should put you well on your way to relief from COPD. As serious as it is,
COPD is naturally healed everyday, although it does require time and patience. Of course quitting smoking is standard, but no matter, follow
these remedies, and do some research on your own. All of these remedies fit well within COPD guidelines. This is holistic health at it's best, as
what does conventional medicine have to offer for COPD? Really.

So please be careful of what you take without the advise of your Doctors.. And again i am glad that you want to live again, that is what all of us want , it may not be a perfect day for us all the time(darn, most days) but we gather our inner strength and live another day!! God bless you and you are in my prayers
I learned in rehab that the less you do the less you can do. And it's progressive downhill slide. The more you do the more you can do and it's a progressive uphill climb. I have 20% lung function. If I can do this I believe about anyone here can. Maybe not all.
Here's to another good day.
Keep on doing whatever help.

This is the conversation I was hoping for.
I bought medical grade peroxide, and diluted it to 3%,
after about 5 uses I was coughing up phlegm like no tomorrow,
however it was not helping me, in fact it was getting harder to breath
so I stopped it.
I tried the DMSO and it was pretty harsh at %50 percent so
I stopped using it. after all it is a solvent and stripped the color out of the nebulizer plastic,
after some time went by I was going downhill, This thread is were I am now.
I change from junk food to fruits and veggies,
Breakfast has been cottage cheese and an apple or some eggs,
Lunch , red grapes and a banana.
Dinner, fish or chicken with Some kind of potato or green veggies.
Snacks have been string cheese or an orange.
I have read that diet is a main part of helping slow down COPD.
I hope this progress continues.
At the same time I tried the DMSO using only 1/3 DMSO and 2/3rds
water, this was easier to deal with. and seem to break up some of the tightness in my chest. I hope it wasn't just a placebo effect
I only used it twice in 9 days.
By the way I did ask a doctor from a TV show about DMSO,
Funny thing he didn't say don't use but he didn't say to use it,
what he said was we need more study on it so research it first.
I cant seem to find enough info about the cons of using it.
Colloidal Silver is something I don't think I want to try,
I have read that the body has no need for it and doesn't produce it,
If anyone knows more about it please share with us.
Eucalyptus has been around a long time in cough drops but i don't know what else it is used for.I thought I might try it in a vaporizer or nebulizer.
And I will end this post with the point Caitsmom pointed out about the
website mentioned in this post the disclaimer gets them off the hook
if their product doesnt work for you or gets you ill, good point Caitsmom..
Dave
I read on another site a while back a guy who swore thalidomide is the cure for all and suggested those who didn't try it were going to die a horrible death (what a nice man). In his profile he put his was going blind !!! go figure :)
Some things you read and probably worth ignoring.
We all want to live and most folks will try anything that sounds good. But sometimes the "cure" can be worse for you, so while i say it is good to try new things, I also say use your brain and think about it first.
If it was all that great and that much of a miracle, some big drug company would already be selling it at a very inflated price.
There are several natural herbs that might help inflammation, cough, ect. but you still should research useing them with your meds, as some have bad side effects, when used with some meds.
There is no cure for copd, not even a transplant is not considered a "cure". You may be free of the diseased lungs, but face a whole new set of problems and potiental diseases .
Just be careful what you put in your body, because a whole lot of folks out there in internet land, only want your money, and will promise you anything to get it.
Hugs
Brenda
Dave, are you getting enough calories from that diet? Just wondering....if you're feeling better I guess that's what's important.
So far as eucalyptus if you have a vaporizer available, why not try it in that first. Just my humble opinion, but, it seems as though your lungs could use a break after the H2O2 and DMSO. Though many sites claimed it was fine, for kids even, I just would lean towards caution in nebulizing right now. A bowl of hot water w/ the eucalyptus in it and a towel to make a little vapor tent for yourself?
Here's to your health :)
A very good suggestion Promisses2 , since I don't have a vaporizer
this should be a good start.
So many responses to this thread its hard to give an answer or comment on all of them without getting to lengthy.
Peta I stopped smoking 2 yrs ago, It was the hardest thing i have ever done in my life till the fight with COPD.
I still dream about smoking.
quote ( It is not the "snake oil" it is the entire snake. ) lol I love it...:)
I check around some more on this Elemental Miracle and cant find anything more about it. Does that surprise anyone?
Over here DMSO is used by vets for stiffness of muscles, it`s pretty powerfull stuff and the label will read "Not for human consumption" that`tells us something doesn`t it???
Hydrogen Peroxide...well if you want to become a Dolly Pardon bleached blond then go for it!!!
Just be careful what you put in your body..here`s to your health x x
I have done a lot of research on supplements and know which ones work for me with my various health issues. And my Dr has a list of the ones I take and has approved of them.
I sure hope to live long enough to see a cure for COPD but, in the meantime, I will do everything I know how to do that is safe and helpful. I guess now that your real intent was to do the same?
Hang in there and keep positive.
I know it is frustrating, and at times overwhelming.
We all keep keeping on.
It's all we can do sometimes.
As in my case, who knows, it might just work!
Take care, never give up.

Some interesting reading.
The 2nd website had some good info.
It seems that diet has a lot to do with COPD.
My protein intake should be pretty good.
Bananas, peanut butter, eggs, and a certain amount of red meat.
Changing from junk food, Cookies, chocolate, cakes, frozen dinners,
to more fruits and veggies has been the hard one for me,
I love junk food.and fortunately don't have a weight problem.
In fact I'm trying to gain weight.
Not seeing much change since last post on health improvement,
But I am getting a treadmill shortly and am going to put it to use.
and i am going to try the Eucalyptus oil in vapor form, (vaporizer )
Eucalyptus has been proven to help thin mucus and reduce problems from bronchitis, At least that's what I read from several medical cites online. We shall see.
i assume if you are looking at getting a treadmill you are still improving from your 1st post where you said you could hardly stand up without getting out of breath...
thumbs up!
there may not be radical improvements like in the begining, but since june when i took a trip with my son & i realized i couldn't "walk/hike" 100 ft to a lookout; so i started walking and doing peddler i have gone from 1 minute to 20 on each.
now to keep that up thru the winter i have devised a figure 8 course through my house that i strap on my fanny pack and walk for 20 minutes twice a day.
one thing i have noticed is that alot to build up a muscle, but they sure can deteriorate fast!
healthy diet and exercise cant' do any harm -- (i would suppose :)
