I don't know if they had you on Prednisone or other steroids or not while you were in the hospital, or even if you are still on them, but I'm assuming you did and this may be part of the reason your doctor wants you to wait. One of the cautions I have read about Prednisone is not to get any vaccines while you are on it. Then, too, could be your immune system right now is pretty compromised.

I haven't gotten it yet, though I am planning to. We didn't have too much of an outbreak here...too isolated, I imagine. One of the nice things about living in the sticks! LOL

Wife and I got the shot December 9th.

No problems with it and, thank God, not been sick with the flu :)

I got the shot in Dec. also, no adverse reactions to it at all.
We did have an outbreak of it here so I was glad to get it.

got the shot...after being treated for a kidney infection...ended up in teh hospital about 4 days later. who knows if it was related or not. but i think the flu season is almost over, isnt' it?

I had both shots, the seasonal and the H1N1 on the same day (Dec 3). One in each arm. I had absolutely no side effects, not even soreness. Even so, I'm still vigilant about using hand sanitizer and avoiding crowds and washing my hands.

I had to wait until Dec to get the shots because I had several steroid injections in my spine during the Fall for nerve disorders, and I had to wait for the steroids to work out of my system.

I think that enough time has elapsed now with the H1N1 shot, that if there were problems with the shot, we'd have heard about it by now. I think you can feel pretty safe about it, if your doctor recommends that you get it.

I had mine on Thursday this week. I also had the pneumonia shot on the same day and had the seasonal flu 3 days earlier. My arms are a little bit tender where the jabs were done but ive had no side effects at all.

MamaMarg that is so crazy, I had a kidney infection two weeks ago myself. Thank goodness I haven't had the swine flu, no shots for me, my doctors office was out and I haven't the money for it at the health department.

No shots for me. But, I haven't had a cold or bronchial attack in YRRSSSS. At least 10 or more.

I too had to wait, In Dec, I was put on a pred test and antibiotics to see if they could fight the infections in my lung and increase my sex drive and oral fixations (just teasing)actually I had an infection and was told I had to wait for the flu shots until it was cleared up, well, on my Jan 19th appt I was all cured, my tongue no longer hung out of my mouth while passing a nurse and I was able to get both flu shots at that time, made me feel weird the next day, but I no longer pull over to the side of the road and wallow in mud puddles for extended periods of time...man, I'm loving my pred...so nice to breathe and walk up my stairs without having to hold my finger over speed dial to 911, no idea when the world will start crashing back down again, but, i'm going to take advantage of living while I can...hooo-ahh

This is in reference to the Prednisone. How do you folks deal with the side effects?

Actually, authorities are predicting another resurgence of H1N1 for early spring. So it's not too late you get your shot, if that's what you want.

I got both the seasonal flu shot and the H1N1 shot awhile back ago and had no after effects friom them other than not getting any flu so far.

Hello Aunt Kackie, I think if you type in prednisone in the above search engine, you may come up with a bunch of good material, there are so many different side effects and so many different ways to handle them with pred...not much help I know, sorry...if you want a good answer you have to mail me money
