I haven't tried it yet, but if I can go 3 to 5 miles on the stationary bike & as long as it's flat. I don't see what the difference would be?

I think the big difference would be that you would be outside in the spring pollen laden air. Other than that I guess there would be no difference.

Well yes, one difference. When you need to get off the stationary bike you just stop anytime. Outside, don't forget to go no further than you can make the same distance back.

In theory it should be ok in ideal conditions. Just take with you the usual precautions, meds, mask or scarf, bottle of water, cell phone etc. Maybe try early evening when pollen / heat is not so high.

I can go short distances, rest & return home. Doc said early day before the air becomes warmer & more polluted. I am in farm country & the end of the day means a day in the fields stirring up dust or spraying crops in the area.
I know you are going to try this & I sure hope it works for you. The first time I rode...I could not believe how FAST the ground moved under me !

Gonna try it, but I will wait until all this pollen settles down. I always take my stuff with me, no matter where I go. That usually includes hubby. Thought I'd have him go with me with the big scooter & if I can't make it we can trade :>))

you may want to buy a motorized bycycle---they have little electric motors that you push a button to start when you are too tired to peddle---they will get you back home and up hills safety. My neighbor has one and she rides all over town with very little pddlling. Too expensive for me, but so I wish

That's a good idea Redbird. Think my hubby Or son could do that. Our bike path, although I live in the hills, is flat. It was built on an old railway line. Now if I was trying this on the road I live on.....well that would be impossible I think. Very hilly :>))

why not put your portable o2 tank in a basket attached to the bike with the 02 hose attached to the handle bar or the o2 hose attached to the back of your head or just dropped around your neck. You could easily hide the 02 hose with a pretty scarf and put your 02 tank in a pretty purse or cooler bag attached to the bike basket with a bungy cord. I would do that along with my water bottle and cell phone.. Want to hear about your riding experiences. What are your o2 levels?

Definitely would take an extra tank. I call it 'Darth'. The pulse on it sounds like Darth Vader. I want a POC, but then I want everything :>)
