Common Variable Immunodeficiency Support Group

Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.

I would like to gage the interest in an Austin get together. I know there is at least 4 from the area. I am currently living in India but will be back for a visit in July. Would anyone be interested in getting together the week of the 4th? I am there for the 1st, 3rd and 4th weeks of July then I return to India for one more year. I will not have consistent access to the Internet the last two weeks of June because we will be traveling. I land on June 27th. I will be staying in North Austin, just South of Lakeline Mall.

Wow. I would love to get together and meet you all. Unfortunately, I am leaving on July 2nd for Michigan where I will be spending about 6 weeks. I will be back to Austin at the end of August.

This sucks. I moved to Austin from Michigan 10 years and this will be my first significant trip back in all of that time. I am so thrilled to be able to escape some of the Austin summer heat this year, but bummed out that the timing of things won't work for me.

I hope you guys are able to make it work. I'm available the rest of the year and would drop everything to meet anyone interested in joining forces.

Fezzywig, Austin is my hometown and I love any excuse to make a weekend trip up there! Sorry about the timing this time, but I am so excited to see a few other CVID pts so close, so let me know if you ever want to meet up! I might actually be coming down in about 2 weeks:) Have a happy week!

What about Sunday, June 30th. We could meet for lunch or dinner at a restaurant so we can get to know each other in a public setting. I know one is downtown and one is close to Georgetown so maybe somewhere in North Austin.

This is great. It's exciting that everyone is up for this. Unfortunately, I won't be able to meet up until I get back from Michigan. I'm coming back on the 21st of August so any weekend after that. Just to throw a date out there, what about Sunday the 25th of August... or possibly the next weekend, the 31st of August...

I'm the one from Georgetown, but I have no problem driving anywhere to meet up. I love going downtown or anywhere where there are good restaurants and nice ambiance. All we really need is a decent place with a comfortable place to sit and quiet enough that we can hear each other talking.

Keep me posted on your schedules and when you all might want to meet up.
