Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...

I'm coming to the realization that I don't have to respond to everything. Not every stimulus deserves a response. I don't have to drop everything because someone is having another crisis-again. I said no to a social invitation today because I just didn't want to. I felt that inital pang of panic and turmoil and guilt, and then said "F it." This is my boundary. I don't have to tell the person "I don't like you anymore." I can be polite and say no. I'm no longer interested in or willing to put myself in compromising or dangerous situations because I feel that needy feeling to be accepted and have company for the sake of company. I don't desire that anymore.
When I was going through IOP I had a great therapist who really helped me. When that therapist left the one that replaced her was a complete jackass-so I didn't stay. Neither did the other people who clearly saw the new person was a jackass. I'm just not doing things that compromise me or make me uncomfortable or otherwise just feel off. I think people with codependent tendencies have unwittingly done this becuase we lived underwater and in chaos as kids, so we turned denial on to the awkward and even grotesque. No more of this.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
I'm sorry about the new therapist. It's hard to find a good therapist. You could go on YouTube and watch some co-dependency videos. For free, too.
I like Mel Robbins. She currently has a YouTube video about - "how not to be a people pleaser". I haven't watched it yet, but maybe you could check that out.
Keep it up!
